We spent the night in Ivory’s guest house.
There were servants all around, ready to attend to our every need at a moment’s notice. In a sense, it was just like back in Larm, except they weren’t all kobolds.
Of course, we didn’t want to overstep, so we simply retired to the bedroom. We all had separate bedrooms. Normally, it’d be expected that I’d share one with Kara, but I didn’t sleep, and it got quite annoying being in the dark with my thoughts for extended periods of time.
At the moment, I was in a nicely lit room, playing with Maou.
I initially sneaked away to go check on him, but rather found him trying to escape from Julian’s grasp. That bastard wouldn’t stop bothering Maou, going on and on about training him to be the perfect evil lord or whatever
So, I did what any reasonable parent would do.
I took the month-old child away from the centuries-old creep.
And now we were just in my room.
