Chapter 3

"They thought that everything went well until the day the little girl cried in her sleep. She cried so hard which alarmed the parents. The little girl told them of what she saw inside her dream"

"At first, the parents didn't believe them because it is impossible to acquire the previous owner's memories with just a heart organ. However, the little girl was undergoing depression and even wanted to take her life"

"This lead the little girl's parents to investigate the donor and found out that the little boy's father forcefully took his son's heart just for money"

"Everything mysteriously formed a connection. It seems like the little boy let her see his memories and asked for a help"

Dr. Amorsolo narrated while looking on the sleeping Samuel on the bed.

"Well, it's just speculation around the medical world, right? We don't know if it is true or not" the Direction felt chilliness around him and looked up at Mr. Fernandez.

"Uhh.. Yes, Yes, It's just a speculation" Dr. Amorsolo also felt the coldness around him and immediately agreed with the Director's words.

The group of doctors went out of Samuel's ward and the room quietened.

Mr. Fernandez's assistant Sir Ocampo entered the room and was petrified to see the cold Mr. Fernandez.

"W..What happened, Sir?" he hesitated to asked but as the assistant, he must know the reason why his boss is unhappy.

However, he didn't know that it is not part of his scope of work.

"Investigate the donor's family, Calvin. I need everything that I should know. No more and no less" he ordered coldly while his mind wandered towards the little girl he saw on that day when a middle-aged woman offered her as a heart organ donor which he rejected.

"Yes, Sir" Calvin, Mr. Fernandez's new assistant, immediately investigated and was shocked after finding out the truth behind the donor's life.

On the next day...

Mr. Fernandez personally attended his son's needs. He didn't know want to see his son becoming helpless while dreaming.

Just as what he had predicted, another dream came in last night which made Samuel wakes up in the middle of the night.

Mr. Fernandez didn't tell Samuel about the donor because he was clueless of the truth behind.

When Calvin entered the ward, Mr. Fernandez excused himself from Samuel while rubbing his soft and fluffy head.

Samuel shoved off his father's hands away from his head because he felt that his father was treating him like a child.

Well, he is still a child but he doesn't want o admit it because he wanted to become an adult and help his father on their business.

While saying so, it seems like he has forgotten about his dreams because of his father's coaxing.

Outside the ward, Mr. Fernandez and Calvin stood beside the balcony where they could see the bustling street of D City.

"Sir, everything is here" Mr. Fernandez took the folder while his hands were trembling. He didn't know why but somehow he felt guilty.

"DAMN IT! SHE'S A DEMON!" Mr. Fernandez cursed loudly while flipping through the pages. He found out the little girl's name and origin.

"Cassandra Valeria Del Mundo, the only child of Agnes Valeria and Yolando Del Mundo"

"Crisanta Santos and was the wife of Yolando Del Mundo's best friend. He allowed them to occupy the vacant rooms in his house so that his daughter will have to accompany with"

"The rumors about him and Crisanta didn't bother him at all and let it circulate around which made Crisanta assumed the title as the second wife of Yolando Del Mundo..?"

"What the..." Mr. Fernandez was speechless of Crisanta's shamelessness.

He sighed a relief that he didn't remarry, otherwise, he will never know how his son's life is.

"What should we do, Sir?" Calvin asked while panicking inside. They have known Yolando Del Mundo since the day he founded the Mundo Corporation. He is ruthless and merciless.

"What can we do? The biological father doesn't even know the death of his only daughter. Why should we interfere?"

"Just ....erase the traces about the heart organ connection between me and Crisanta"

Mr. Fernandez helplessly shook his head and headed his way towards his son's ward.

Unbeknownst to them, a middle-aged man was standing inside a ward while he was petrified of what he have heard.

His ears are sharp because of heavy physical training he have done before.

His hands trembled as he immediately dialed his daughter's phone number.

"The number you have dialed is now unattended. Please try your call later" a mechanical voice of woman sounded on his phone.

He called again and again but his daughter didnt answer him while his tears fell down his cheeks.

"Cassandra..." he was crying silently as he leaned on the wall.

He is Yolando Del Mundo. He was faking his flight to France because he must be admitted in the hospital.

Since the day his child was born, he didn't want her to have any emotional attachment to him because he knows that his days are numbered.

He had a colon cancer and he was doing his best to be treated. He even deviced a plan for their trip to another country because of Cassandra's wishes.

"Congratulations, Mr. Del Mundo. You are finally cured" his personal doctor said which made him cry even more.

"What's the point? My only daughter is now gone" he murmured but was loud enough to be heard by his personal doctor.

Because of his personal doctor's words, his heart was emotionally breaking down.

The middle-aged woman was crying as she embraced the white porcelain jar.

Inside the white porcelain jar is the cremated ashes of Cassandra.

"Ma'am, it is time to properly put her down" the manager of Emily Funeral Homes, said to the middle-aged woman.

He doesn't know what to call her, if it is either Mrs. Del Mundo or Mrs. Santos.

After all, Crisanta is not legally married to Yolando Del Mundo and this is an open secret to wealthy families.

"Condolence to the Del Mundo Family" the guests kept saying as they politely attended the funeral.

However, Yolando has not been found anywhere in the funeral home.

"Where is Mr. Del Mundo, Mrs. Santos?" Mrs. Galencia asked and openly called her 'Mrs. Santos' as a provocation.

Selena Jassen Galencia was the love rival of Agnes Valeria when they were in high school but Yolando had chosen Agnes as his lifetime partner. Their love is pure affection.

When Agnes died, Selena planned to become Yolando's second wife as she was using her status as a widowed woman from Galencia Family.

Selena was the wife of her deceased husband, Gregorio Galencia, and they have three little sons.

However, before she executed her plan, Yolando had brought a woman in Del Mundo Family with the excuse of properly taking care of her because of his best friend's dying wish.

Unfortunately, Crisanta was thinking differently.
