Learning the basics of magic

When the first ray of sunlight touched Light's face, the little one had already woken up. Sleepy from going to bed late and getting up early they still beat him.

The first thing he did was give a little glance to the magic book that Susan had given him. He still didn't want to read it deeply, he just wanted to give himself motivation for the day.

Light went down the stairs carefully and sat at the table. Susan was already there and Ailyn was making breakfast. When she saw that her little girl had only come down from the second floor, she was upset.

"Albert!" Ailyn yelled loudly.

a sound similar to a knock had been heard from the second floor. Albert by the scream had fallen out of bed and quickly went down the stairs. With a worried face he peeked out.

"Y-yes, darling?" He asked hesitantly.

"What did I tell you about not letting the child go down alone?" Ailyn scolded her husband as she crossed her arms.

Albert looked at the table and saw his son sitting up while he laughed at the father and mother scene. Resigned Albert just bowed his head and asked for forgiveness.

After everything was organized, the four of them were sitting at the table and as always, they gave thanks.

Light ate quietly and when he finished eating, he asked his father.

"Father, what time will we start training?"

"Wow, slow down, sprinter." Albert just laughed when he saw the enthusiasm that his son showed. First we rest the food, and then we practice.

"Son, did you find out that there is another intelligent boy like you?" Ailyn brought up the subject from last night.

"What do you mean, mother?" Asked the boy a little confused.

Susan went to the trouble of answering the boy, as Ailyn began to collect the dishes and Albert volunteered to wash them.

"You see, tomorrow is the birthday of Zairon's son, the leader of the guard who is in charge of protecting the town. His son apparently is also a good talent like you, and he asked me to train him.

"Mmm, I see," Light said without the slightest expression of astonishment on his face. "And what does that have to do with me?

Susan just gave a wry laugh.

"It means, my son, so that you don't get left behind, your dear Grandmother Susan invites you to train with them," Albert replied.

Susan nodded at her son-in-law's words. She wanted Light to practice with her and the other boy so that he would learn much better, so that Light would not feel less and would meet more people.

That was a great idea and both Albert and Ailyn approved it, all that was left was for little Light to say yes. But that did not happen.

"I'm not interested at the moment," she said quickly. I want to keep my routine as I have it in my mind and then I will ask Grandma Susan to evaluate and teach me.

The boy's response left everyone a bit puzzled, since he already had a routine and his plans were different.

For a 3-year-old to think and organize himself in such a way, well ... It was kind of surprising to them.

Neither tried to refute the boy's words and only accepted his request. So the rest ended and the family talk too. Albert led the boy into the yard and gave him the wooden sword.

The teaching that Albert had for the boy was based for the moment on the positions of defense and attack. To be a good swordsman, your foundations must be strong and secure, Albert said to his son.

Light as always nodded to the words of his father. There was no reason to contradict him.

Thus they spent the whole morning, in addition to teaching him the proper use of the sword, Albert exercised his son with a light training. Thus the child would form a good body at a young age.

When the clock struck twelve noon, Light went to shower and then it was time for lunch.

He ate quietly and talked a few things with his family. When he finished, Light happily went to his room and took the basic magic book.

At last the time had come to read and learn about the magic of this world.

The first thing you had to know, how much does magic affect the world, especially on the Barkarus continent? The answer is, quite a bit.

magic comes from the manifestation of mana, mana exists in all the environment that surrounds the world. Air attracts streams of mana, trees contain mana, lawns contain mana. All living things, plants, animals contain mana.

The human being is a receptor that extracts the mana and stores it in his body, making it merge with the mana and then generating what has been magic.

In order for a living being to be able to create magic, one must first create what they call the mana core. The mana core is the chest where the aforementioned mana is stored. A person can commonly awaken his core at the age of 12.

Why at the age of 12? Easy.

Because from the age of 5, the body unconsciously enters a state of absorption of mana. When the 10 years of age are reached, the mana nucleus is already taking shape and the child is instilled and instructed in a safe way to solidify the nucleus, which usually takes 2 more years, thus reaching the age of 12 years.

Once the formation of the mana nucleus is ready, the conscious absorption of the mana into the nucleus begins, filling it with mana and making the body assimilate its energy.

The core of mana has its stages. When a child awakens the nucleus of him, it turns dark red. As the child is taught about magic and how to control and manifest mana, the capacity and performance of the core is improved.

The clearer the core, the stronger, more perceptive and easier it will be to learn, recite and generate spells, magic and even control the elements and their derivatives.

The mana core has 6 stages. Purple, red, orange, yellow, silver, and white; not only that, each stage has its levels, so to speak: dark, intermediate and light.

A justified and appropriate level system that assimilates the growth of the individual and his core of mana.

Light was immersed in reading each paragraph of the book and analyzing each word in order to understand about magic and its use before doing the practice. "A lot of text", children as young as 7 would say. That is why from the age of 12, the awakening and learning of the child is instilled.

His level of perception and maturity is manifested at that age. There are cases like "talented" children who even start at 9, 10 years old.

For example, elves: They wake up at the age of 10 normally, there are even elves who wake up at the age of 8, but it is because they are already born with a great perception and better understanding of mana as they are related to nature.

Light on the other hand, since he was 1 year old, his consciousness awakened and the level of perception of him was increasing over the years.

Light's maturity and understanding far surpass the average child, even common elves or those with little talent.

The fact that he can read and grasp very well what he is impregnated in the book on magic says it all.

Light spent the entire afternoon reading about the concept and where the mana comes from. He also read the first step in forming a mana core and how to assimilate it with the body.

So much was his immersion in the book that he did not realize that it was already getting dark. Ailyn had to go find him in her room so he could come downstairs for dinner. She was happy that her son was smart, but she didn't want him to be too distracted in reading.

After all, a mother always cares about her child.

Once the family had already eaten, each one went to sleep. Albert and Ailyn said good night to her son and they went to her room.

When the day came, Light resumed the same training routine with his father in the morning, at noon he had lunch and then used the afternoon to continue reading and analyzing how the mana nucleus is formed.

His first thought was to begin to form the nucleus of him taking advantage of the fact that his perception and memory are of high caliber to exercise the first steps in the world of magic.

But for that, it was not enough to read a single afternoon and understand everything easily the first time. Light wanted to develop himself and have a good foundation in his mind about the necessary procedure to carry everything out perfectly.

So his days passed normally. Thanks to the body exercise training, he has grown a little more after a week. Learning from him the basics of the sword was paying off as well.

If Light carried on like this for another week, his training could go up another level.

As for learning how to create his mana core, Light was ready. After a week of reading, rereading, and analyzing in depth, he was sure to begin his creation of the kernel.

Although that will have to wait another day. As Light had scheduled, he would have one day off a week to help his mother with simple things around the house.

Just as Light has time for his father and his, he very well may have time for his dear mother. Today was the day, luckily for Light, Ailyn decided to go down to town for food to store in the warehouse and for dinner today.

The town was small, but despite that, the villagers took advantage of the extensive fields to grow food and be able to sell it on the streets. Also from time to time the odd errant merchant passes by and exchanges food for work tools, even weapons.

That was explained by her mother to the child as they walked to the center of town. There were all kinds of things: food, clothing, household utensils (that the villagers themselves created), jewelry (that they created themselves), and despite being few, weapons for combat.

Of everything that was sold, what most caught Light's attention were the weapons. There were bronze swords, there were iron swords, there were armor such as breastplates, gloves, knee pads, a helmet; there were also short daggers, there was the occasional wooden bow.

Just by taking a look at the center, you could see that the town, despite its limitations, could generate and commercialize many things.

what was also good to look at were the houses. the design was good and they looked very cozy.

Ailyn and Light walked through the center slowly. Ailyn wanted her little girl to see new things and learn more from the outside. Once they had already passed through the center, Ailyn came to a position where there was a woman with red hair, white skin and brown eyes.

Light despite her age could see that the woman was cute, of course, her mother is not far behind either. She has hazel copper hair, just like hers, white skin and shiny black eyes, as well as having a good body.

Analyzing it better, Light realized that her characteristics were the same as those of his mother. Hazel copper color, shiny black eyes and white skin. Light, realizing that, smiled, after all, he wasn't ugly.

When the woman saw Ailyn arrive, she greeted her happily and then looked at her little one who was next to her.

"And this little heartthrob?" The woman asked with a smile as she bent down to stroke Light's hair.

"He's my son, Merly, he's really big and beautiful!" Ailyn commented cheerfully.

"Not to mention it, friend," she replied with a happy grin. By the way, you come to buy, I guess.

"Yes, the usual, please," Ailyn said.

After buying what was necessary, the mother and son duo returned home. Despite having walked slowly for little Light to observe the town, they had arrived early.

Since they were the only ones in the house, Ailyn and Light started cleaning. So they spent the whole day, Light had fun with his mother and his day was not so bad, after all.
