Sweet Memories

" l did nothing wrong, no one is allowed to stay with my debt for long, no one has the permission, not even the devil."

Alexander shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, he continued to look at Sam. He didn't know what he was staring at on her face, it was hard to explain.

He sat on the edge of the bed, making the bedding sink deep. He fixed Sam's head on the pillow case before covering her body with warm sheets.

Alexander walked to the couch and he laid on it and closed his eyes slightly.

However, his senses were alert. Many thoughts were flashing in Alexander's mind when he drifted into a deep slumber.

Alex was woken up by the beautiful bird singing melodiously on the window, he flickered his thick eyelashes lazily, rubbing his eyes to get rid of the blurry vision.

" How did l fall asleep? this is not like me." Alexander yawned lazily, he is not used to sleeping peacefully, sleeping is not in his vocabulary.

" Wait! l didn't have nightmares." Alexander exclaimed in a low tone, he usually has nightmares whenever he closes his eyes, that's why he hates falling asleep.

" Oh no! what the hell did i sleep soundly till my phone slipped from my grip?" Alexander wondered, he picked up the phone and checked the time.

" It's too early, she needs to sleep some more." It was six sharp in the morning, Alex didn't want to wake Sam. He walked to the window and chased the bird away.

" I'll fry your if you dare to come back here." Alexander warned the innocent bird.

He walked to the wooden mahogany door but halted halfway, he turned his head to glare at the sleeping beauty one last time.

" You look so innocent when you're asleep, no one can imagine you're a stubborn ass." The corner of his lips raised into a naughty smirk, he turned and reached the metallic doorknob.

Alexander closed the door behind him when he sauntered out of the room. He descended the grand staircase carefully and walked straight to the kitchen, to prepare breakfast before Sam wokes up.

Meanwhile in Diana's apartment, she stretched on the bed lazily, trying hard to open her heavy eyelids.

" Wait! how did l get here?" She sat on the bed instantly, darting her eyes around to make sure she wasn't dreaming.

" Oh no! this can't be, this is so embarrassing for real, this can't be." She ran her slender fingers through her black silky hair.

" How did Edward know my password? so he already knows it's his birthday?" She exhaled deeply, getting out of the bed.

Her face landed on the note beside the bed table, he picked it and read the the content. Her face lit up instantly when she saw his breathtaking handwriting on it.

" Remember to take the medicine once you wake up." Her lips curved into a broad smile, she inhaled deep, placing the note on her chest.

Diana closed her eyes slightly, daydreaming.

" How sweet? Did you carry me a bridal style?" she questioned the quiet room, she tried to imagine Edward carrying her in his arms.

She moved the note to her nose, his strong cologne lingered in her nostrils. She inhaled it deeply, she'll never get tired of it.

All the previous day's memories flashed in her head, she smiled broadly till her cheeks felt sore.

Diana recalled Edward giving her the clothes to change, he helped her dry the hair too.

" You're so sweet, Edward." She muttered, hugging herself tightly. Diana wanted to remain in the fantasy world forever, because she's able to hug him, kiss him and make love with him.

" l love you Sam." Diana's shoulders dropped when she recalled those words, how Edward confessed his unending love for Sam.

" You need to forget about him,Diana. You need to accept the damn truth. He's in love with someone else." She heaved a sigh.

She grabbed the tablet drugs from the table and swallowed them along with water. Diana sauntered out of her room and headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for herself.

She bumped into a hard substance and stumbled backwards.

" What the hell?" She cursed, wondering what was happening. She can walk around with her eyes closed without bumping into anything.

A strong arm held her around the waist before she could land on the tiled floor. Diana had closed her eyes already, preparing herself to hit the hard floor.

Diana flickered her eyelashes softly, to check out who was her knight in shining armour.

Her eyes locked with his, Diana's heart pounded wildly. She held her breath for a short while.

It was like time was moving in slow motion.

" You need to watch your steps, Diana. The next time you might end up frying your face."

Edward chuckled softly when he saw Diana rolling her eyes playfully.

" Sorry about that, l know every corner of this house, that's why l don't watch out while walking." She giggled, Edward helped her up and stood on her two feets.

" Thank you." She smiled timidly at him, brushing hair strands from her face.

" It's nothing, l came to check on you, did you take the medicine? " Edward asked her.

" Yes, a few minutes ago." Diana nodded her head in response, looking away.

Diana was afraid to glance him straight in the face because she felt guilty for using Edward's name as her password.

" I need to prepare breakfast, will you stay?" Diana's lips curved into a little smirk, she held her breath while waiting for his answer.

" Yes, l didn't eat breakfast before leaving the house." Edward nodded his head in acceptance, smiling back at her.

Diana and Edward walked to the kitchen, Edward sat on the kitchen counter, watching Diana prepare pancakes.

" You didn't mention to me that you secure your door with a password." Diana breathed heavily when she heard his questions, she has been avoiding this conversation.

" Uhm..... sorry about that. l didn't expect to fall asleep on our way to my apartment, you could have woken me up, you're too bad."

Diana fixed her eyes on the pan, her cheeks flushed when she recalled yesterday's memories. She can't get enough of it.

" l didn't want to wake you up, you were so peaceful while sleeping." Edward let out a throaty chuckle, raising his eyebrows in amusement when he recalled.

" I tried your birthday and Sam's birthday, thinking it was the password, only to find out that my birthday date is the password."

Diana coughed intentionally when she heard his words.

" Oh, yes. Your birthday, l mean....l decided to use your birthday date as my password because it's easy to remember, Uhm..... it's just that..."

She was about to explain further but she was stopped by Edward.

"It's okay, you don't need to explain anything to me, using my birthday date is not a crime anyway, it's not a big deal." Edward chuckled.

" If my birthday is unforgettable, then use it. l have no problem at all, we're friends anyway." Edward shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, glancing at Diana.

" You're right, we're friends." Diana nodded her head in agreement, her lips curved into half a smile.

" We're friends." Those words echoed in Diana's head over and over again, her heart twisted, as if someone was squeezing it into a tiny ball.

" You need to get used to it Diana, you're just a friend to him. You'll never be more than friends." Diana reminded herself over and over again, her eyes welled up instantly.

She couldn't control her emotions anymore, tears flowed from her brown hazel eyes.

Diana looked away instantly, she raised her hand and wiped tears using the back of her hand.

" Are you okay Diana? What's wrong? why are you crying?" Edward creased his eyebrows when he saw her look away quickly and wiped tears.

" Oh, me? cry?" Diana faked a laugh, turning around to face Edward.

" Why would l cry? I think there's something wrong with my eyes, they're itchy." She rubbed her eyes slightly to convince Edward.

" Okay, l thought you were crying. I was surprised, l thought you're a cry baby." Edward chuckled softly, winking his left eye at her.

" Quit teasing me Edward, that's not funny." Diana waved her hand jokingly in the air, she prepared coffee when she was done making the pancakes.

Edward assisted Diana to take breakfast to the dining hall. They sat at the opposite side of the table and ate breakfast.

Meanwhile, Sam stretched her body lazily on the comfortable bed. She groaned when her muscles stretched, her body felt sore.

" Oh no, this isn't good." She muttered, adjusting to the bright light coming from the opened window.

Sam sat on the bed, burying her face in her palms. She curled her legs upwards, resting the elbows on her knees.

She raised her head to check time on the wall clock and her eyes widened instantly. It was almost 10am.

She got out of the bed lazily and sauntered to the bathroom, she filled the jacuzzi bathtub with warm water.
