Chapter 11

"How long are you going to keep standing there, huh? Come in!"

--

Karyl seemed to be stomping her feet into Flower's apartment. She also slammed the door behind her, causing a bang. No doubt, Flower immediately covered her ears.

"You! How dare you be rude in my apartment. Listen to me, Miss Karyl. I don't like-"

"Stop!" Karyl touched Flower's lips with her index finger and asked her to be quiet. Flower immediately pushed it away roughly.

"How dare you desecrate my restricted area."

"Tch, restricted. I'm pretty sure that Jason has touched your lips more than 1,000 times." Karyl mocked.

Flower squeaked in annoyance. "You always provoke my emotions."

"And you're always giving me trouble!" Karyl denied not wanting to lose.

Angry, that was one word that described how Flower was feeling right now. However, she wasn't the only one who felt that way. Karyl was more annoyed by the woman's performance, which she thought was unprofessional.

"Did you know that the mess you created today became a big and even fatal problem? You know that Lexa has just returned from her vacation. Remember, your struggle to become a supermodel is not easy. Don't let the top of your career that you worked so hard end just like that. Don't ever give Lexa a chance to-"

"SHUT UP!" Flower immediately interrupted.

Karyl looked tired, sighing while shaking her head. "That's you, stubborn, self-absorbed, hard to tell, but always asking for everything to be perfect. Hey, Miss Flow, all of this requires a process and of course discipline of time, unlike you who-"

"Are you done talking?" Flower was furious

"Not yet."

"It doesn't matter if you've stopped talking or not. You should shut up! Now it's my turn to speak and tell you one thing that I did not create today's chaos but by-"

"Mr Gilbert, is that what you want to say?" Karyl cut the conversation quickly, combined with an embarrassed look.

"Well, you know that." Flower replied while sitting on the long sofa. Even now, she was spoiling her eyes with the television screen.

"She just likes to watch television shows. She should think and find a way out of this problem." Karyl muttered to herself, upset.

"If you want to argue with me, come here! Don't just stand there." Flower snapped as she only glanced at Karyl.

'What a labile manager!' Flower cursed.

"Sit down! Don't let your feet take root." Flower patted the empty space next to her.

Karyl immediately sat roughly on the long sofa and then looked at Flower with a cynical look. "What are your plans tomorrow?"

"I don't know." Flower shrugged her shoulders.

"Think about it! All of this has to do with continuing your career."

Exhalation of tired breath seemed to accompany the roar of Flower's breath combined with a breathless look.

"You know what, Karyl. I'm exhausted from today's events, so can you stop asking this question over and over again? I'll think about a way out tonight."

"Better think about it now! Don't procrastinate."

The sentence that had just tickled Flower's ears forced her to turn her face. "What you're saying is true but, I can't think at all. Just thinking of Obsen's anger scares me."

"Oh, I can't believe this. So a famous supermodel, Flower Carnabel, is afraid of Obsen."

"I'm serious, Karyl. You're taking it jokingly. I'm not scared in the truest sense of the word."

"Then?" Karyl cut impatiently.

Karyl looked at Flower with a sharp gaze. "You know that he's a lady killer. He loves to take the opportunity in tightness to pressure models to follow his orders."

"There's no other way, Flow. It's the only way to save your career."

"And I, Flower Carnabel, would rather retreat than throw my pride and honour on a despicable man like him."

One thing that Karyl caught from the look in Flower's eyes right now was a sense of hopelessness shrouded in deep frustration.

Not wanting to push the woman further, she then smiled as she gently rubbed the back of Flower's fingers. "We will think about this matter together."

The soothing words that had just tickled the ear had forced Flower to turn her face with a scorching gaze that rhymed with gratitude.

Karyl embraced Flower's slender body in her arms. Her hand seemed to be moving up and down on her frail back, trying to give a sense of peace.

"Oh yeah, Flow, do you know one thing?"

"What?"

Karyl seemed hesitant to speak. Meanwhile, Flower was impatient, so she urged her to talk directly.

"Em, when I came here, I saw... Jason."

Hearing Jason's words made Flower flinch from the hug. Her hazel eyes were dazzling with absolute sharpness. "Where did you meet him? Say it one more time!"

"In the lobby, Flow."

Flower's beautiful face instantly tightened.

'Shittt, you brat! How dare he approach my apartment! Shame on you. Your fiancé is pregnant, but your behaviour is absolutely disgusting.' Flower cursed in her heart.

"What are you thinking about?"

Flower put on a forced smile. "Nothing."

"Em, it looks like Jason is still trying to chase your love."

Exhalation of tired breath seemed to accompany the roar of Flower's breath. "Ah, never mind. Better not to talk about him. It's useless."

The words that slipped from Flower's lips had accompanied Karyl into a faint smile as she gently rubbed the back of her fingers. "Do you hate, Rose?"

"What kind of question is that? Of course, I hate her. How can I not hate this despicable woman who has ruined my life, my happiness, my love, and also my future?"

'I can never forgive Rose's mistakes.' Flower continued in her heart.

Her eyes immediately heated up. She was also caught repeatedly closing her eyes so that the tears would not fall down her smooth white cheeks. Unfortunately, those stupid tears still flow freely without even being able to stop.

"Wipe your tears. Listen to me, Flow. Your tears are too precious to cry over an asshole like Jason. A cheating man with little sense of responsibility. Come here!"

Karyl embraced Flower's slender body into a hug. She hugged her body very tightly, combining up and down movements on her frail back.

"Don't cry. Don't let yourself become weak just because of their cruelty."

Unfortunately, in Karyl's arms, Flower burst into tears even more. Indeed, anyone who heard it would surely be slashed by it, as well as Karyl, the woman, was also dragged into the sadness that her best friend felt.

"Sorry, Flow. I shouldn't have reminded you of bad memories-"

"Don't apologise. You're completely innocent. I just haven't dealt with myself."

"Then wipe your tears," Karyl replied as she gently wiped away the tears with her thumb.

"Don't ever shed your tears. You are too precious to cry over their destruction, understand?"

Flowers didn't answer. All she did was sink into Karyl's arms.

'Thank you, Karyl. You are the only one who loves me sincerely and is always there for me. Even though I have troubled you many times.' She muttered in her heart.
