LEILA CROSS
It's too good to be true.
That feels like what's happening right now. I have been planning about this and this is making me surely too excited that I couldn't stop myself from getting 'my slave' to sleep for more.
I stretch my neck and my shoulders making my bones crack a little bit and it feels refreshing!
Our so-called wedding is now fastly approaching. Hours from now they'll be escorting me outside to meet my groom.
The King of the Vampire Realm.
But sorry to burst your bubble, when that time comes, I am no longer be like a criminal caged in gold bars. I'll be too far ahead from here.
I watch my reflection in the mirror. My long sleeve green dress is now sleeveless. I cut it off as it makes me feel itchy. And looking at my get-up now, it feels like I'm back to being the Leila Cross of the Human Realm. The strongest Vampire Hunter.
The sun rays illuminate my twinkling emerald green eyes as it appears more appealing than usual. Iris's gorgeous physical looks make me feel strange at some point.
Maybe because I'm still not used to wear this kind of face and body. All I know is that life must go on. Forget everything and start all over again but that was and is just too hard to do. Even if you ask children to forget their ruined toys, it will be too hard for them.
In my case, aside from the fact that I need to recall what happened before I died, I can't forget how I was chased by groups of Vampires the moment I woke up in Iris's body.
I avert my gaze towards the knight girl, who's deep asleep on top of my bed, wearing my fabulous and grandiose wedding gown. It is in the color of red with gold attach in different areas. It's a one long sleeve tube dress.
My eyes move from her body to my head where a golden tiara is neatly fixed in a mini-box.
As I am leaving the Castle, I can't just give it to a lunatic girl like her. Of course, I am too crazy for taking it as a remembrance but this tiara is too cute for me to leave it here.
My head snaps to my right when I heard some footsteps coming near to my room. I am familiar with that kind of slow yet a little bit light footsteps like the person behind it is a woman. But that's not the case. It's a footstep of the Vampire Ancestor of this Castle.
Wyatt.
I wait for him to knock on my door and kept myself silent as I even my breathing.
He will not see the knight in my bed because I made sure that she's finely hidden behind my comforter but in my case, he'll just see that I'm still not yet ready to wear the wedding gown.
I've waited for minutes until I just hear his footsteps fading away.
I furrow my brows and tilt my head sideways for I am wondering with his action. Hmm, maybe he feels like I'm still sleeping? It's still early for the wedding though.
I shrug my shoulder and look at the window to my left. A wide smile etches on my lips as soon as I watch how the sun shines the whole place for the wonderful and important even of theirs.
Sorry, not sorry.
I need to ruin your celebration.
|THIRD PERSON'S POV|
Hours pass by and it's nearly time for the wedding and Wyatt is already waiting for his bride.
Wyatt is wearing a black tuxedo with his golden necktie that is neatly fixed around the collar of his white long sleeve. His hair is nicely fixed in a messy style that makes him look even more handsome. Despite his godly looks, he moves around like he's already impatiently waiting for his bride.
He looks bored by the way he lazily looks ahead of him without minding the noise of the vampire who attends their wedding.
His eyes look dull and it seems like he's too sleepy to attend the ceremony.
Minutes later, a servant is fastly approaching the hall where the wedding will be held. She's wearing a maid dress and nice shoes but her face looks like a brick of wall was thrown at her. Her face is a little bit dirty like some bomb explode right at her face.
As she sweats hard, she hardly breathes as if someone is chasing after her life. Her lips shaking unable to utter words due to fast breathing and panic running through her veins.
As she tries her best to open the double door, her heart can't wait any longer.
With shaking hands, she pushes the door with force causes it to open abruptly that catches all the visitors inside the hall turn their attention to what happened at the door.
Everyone stares at the servant with annoyance and confusion as to why she's behaving differently when the whole place is full of excitement and full of expectations the wedding that will happen any moment from now.
Catching her breath, she holds her knees and breathes in and out to calm herself and say what she needs to say.
"The bride's room is in fire," hardly breathing, everyone is stun by what they hear from the servant.
Regardless of how low her voice was, they were able to hear it as they all enhance their hearing ability.
"Don't joke around here, servant!" One vampire reacts with what she just informs them.
After that vampire, they all say nonsense things that won't help the situation they're facing right now. The servant doesn't know what to do and roams her eyes and it stops right at the intimidating blue eyes of the bride's groom.
She's not able to say something when he suddenly vanishes, leaving all of them arguing with nonsense things.
Wyatt arrives just in front of the stairs. He can hear the panic of all the vampires that are working in his Castle as they try to kill the massive fire that's coming from his Bride's room. Iris's room.
"Pull out the fire! Pull out the fire!" Shouts by a knight on guard in the Castle as they continue to ease the fire. But then it's not easy to pull out the fire as it is one of the rare magic that Wyatt recently thought to Iris.
The fire that he thought of her was the fire that's currently burning the whole room.
Wyatt knows the fact that no one can take the fire out and no one can enter the room except him. For he is a Vampire Ancestor and the fire can't hurt him, he enters without a second thought.
The servants and knights that were trying their best to kill the fire, watch their King enters the room without hesitation.
They look worried but they know that he can do it without dying.
Upon entering the room, he roams around to look for his bride. The fire is already spreading all over the room and it's a good thing that the bed is not that yet affected.
He takes a step forward when he suddenly feels dizzy. In his mind, he wonders why does the room smell something different. Like there's a scent mixed with the natural scent of the room that's making him feel drowsy.
He shakes his head to shake his dizziness. He blinks his eyes and spot what he's looking for right on the bed.
He squints his eyes to see a woman wearing a wedding gown laying on the bed, unconscious. Or that is what he thought. Thinking that Iris fainted due to releasing such massive force to create fire, he fastly approaches the woman.
He's dumbfounded to find out that the one wearing the bride's wedding gown is one of his great knights that was lying on the bed.
He unconsciously glances at the window when he thinks of something.
He never expected Iris to escape from his Castle. As his sight becoming blurry, he clenches his hand and loses his consciousness.
On the other side, Leila watches how the color of the view not far away from her direction changed. From the bright view, it changes to dark gray as an explosion happens in that area.
Standing right at the rooftop of an abandoned building not far from the Castle, she wears a victorious smile on her lips.
"Till we meet again,"
Closing her eyes, she recalls everything that has happened to her the moment she was brought to the Castle.
Those mixed bittersweet moments, she slowly lets it go from her system. This is the time where she will live a new life again. She will start all over again until she will discover and recall everything starting before she died as Leila Cross of the Human Realm.
Today, no wedding will happen and she'll strive forward with her new mission.
To find out the mystery behind her death.
