Start Of A Dream

they then started their journey to the capital. It was a journey that would take around 1 week to complete from now.

This week went by pretty easy. The three Adrian were traveling with, had mourned a little, and it feels like everything has went back to normal.

The days in the journey went by with training traveling and hunting. Some occasional attacks came, but it was all low tier thief's or low level monsters. so it was easy for Alice, Adrian and Henrick to deal with.

Brotus was also almost back to normal, but his appearance had turned much colder after all this. Adrian had also turned colder, but that was because he finally saw the worlds cruelty, that he had never seen before. He knew he should not be naïve anymore.

1 week later, they finally arrived at the capital.

"Adrian, thank you for everything you have done" Brotus came down from the caravan, and gave him a deep bow.

"Please don't bow Brotus, I did it because i had a job to do" Adrian went over to stop Brotus from bowing anymore, he was only there for the job anyway.

"No, if it was because of the job ... you could have just run away!" Brotus kept going, he would not give up thanking Adrian.

"It is fine, I would never run from a fight! Anyway, get up now!" Adrian didn't want to see Brotus bow anymore.

As Brotus got up, he said "Oh yeah, the reward for you work!" Brotus handed Adrian 5 gold and the spatial bag.

"That is more than what we agreed upon" Adrian looked at the coins with a perplexed looks. He didn't want to take advantage of Brotus, but he also needed the money to live.

"It is fine, you saved us in the village, and you helped bury all the dead people, I would say we owe you more!"

"Okay, thank you then! But you can always come to me for help in the future!" Adrian was touched at how honest Brotus was, so he would not turn his honesty down.

"I will, you can do the same!" Brotus took the offer straight away. He did not want to be polite.

At the moment they were standing in front of the capitals city gates. The only thing one could see from outside the gates, was the big castle looking building, standing in the middle of the city. Beside the castle stood 3 tall towers, which looked quite weird.

As they got to the gate, they heart "ID please".

Brotus, Henrick and Alice took out a small card, to show their identities. They walked through the gate, while looking at Adrian. He was stopped by the guard.

"You can only get in if you have an ID son" The guard had a cold face while talking to Adrian.

"How do I get an ID then?" Adrians face turned a little colder when he asked.

"I could do that, for a few colds" The guard had a small grin on his face. He was trying to earn a bit of gold from this 'naive' child.

"I have never heard such a rule before" Brotus said from behind the guard, with a very cold face "Wasn't it usually free to get the guards help?"

The guard snickered at Brotus while saying "Not anymore, it changed"

"Okay, call your captain Bertrand, let me have a word with him" Brotus gave a sly smile now.

As the guard heard that name, his face turned very pale "D-d-do you know Sir Bertrand??"

"Know him? We grew up as neighbors" His face only grew wider, he looked like he enjoyed teasing people who take advantage of others.

"Did someone call my na ... Oh Brotus, it is you!" suddenly a big man walked out from inside the city, the start of the sentence sounded annoyed, while the other half sounded very excited.

This man was Bertrand. He was a tall middle-aged man, with a quite handsome face, and short blond hair.

"Hello Bertrand, I wanted to ask something" The guards face turned pale white "Is it true that it cost gold to get a new ID?"

"It is for free, if the person had never had an ID before, why do you ask?" Bertrand answered honestly, and he knew Brotus knew the rules. So he was really curious why he asked.

"That guard over there, tried to ask for money from my benefactor! Because he didn't have any ID!" Brotus said this in an annoyed tone, while pointing at the guard.

"Oh really!" Bertrand was a little angry now, an then he looked at Adrian "You can come with me, I will help you myself!"

Then he looked towards the guard, which almost made him collapse "When your shift ends, come see me!"

They started to walk through the massive gate. It was around 15 meters tall, an it was made of massive stones.

On the other side of the gate, a small military building was. That was the building Adrian and Bertrand was heading.

"We will see you later Adrian! If you need us, we will probably be at the merchants guild!" Brotus said this, while him and his children walked away from there. Adrian gave them a small nod, and went with Bertrand.

When they came into the building, Adrian was led into a small room, with a glowing crystal in the midlle of it. It was apparantly called the crystal of truth. It was used for every new visitor who needed a new ID.

It was used when people were asked questions, to see if they spoke the truth or not.

"So Adrian, I will ask you some questions, while you touch the crystal of truth! Understood?"

"Yes" He had his hand on the crystal, and it showed green. So he did not lie.

"Good, then, what is your name?"

"Adrian Stone" Again, the crystal glowed a green light.

"Have you come here with the intentions of doing anything like terrorism?"

"No!"

...

...

And so he was asked quite a few questions, before the captain said it was over. Of course there was no problems, so he gopt his new ID right away.

"Well, her is your ID, do you have any plans now then?" Bertrand asked this, to be polite.

"Yeah, I am going to register as an Adventurer!"

"Oh, that is good! The adventurer guild is just down the streets, so just go straight!"

"Thank you!" Adrian didn't feel like talking anymore, he had just been interrogated for 45 minutes, he had had enough of being in this building.

He went straight out into the streets, and straight towards the adventurers guild. As he walked down the streets, he noticed how wide the streets were, and how busy it was. You could not avoid bumping into people. This was the dream for pickpocket thieves.

The building around the streets was quite beautiful, and they were around 2-3 floors tall. With most of the building having some kind of a store out to the street.

This one street already looked way better than his home town did, and with all this people around, it also made it look very vibrant.

As he made his way towards the adventurers guild, he could see the crowd got thinner and thinner, and there was less and less stores. It seemed like the first street you hit in this city, is the street for trading and goods.

At the end of the street, stood a tall building, which was around 100 meters long. The entrance was a massive door split into to. On top of the entrance was a sign, this sign said 'Adventurers guild'.

"Finally, I get to start my Adventurer career" He said this in a small murmur to himself. No one around him heart anything.

He walked up to the entrance of the guild, and opened the doors. It looked quite weird, since the doors was twice his size.

As he opened the door, he could see inside. It was a massive hall, with a lot of people sitting on benches around tables. Most of them sat in groups, while others sat completely by themselves.

The hall was quite simple looking with wooden walls. All the benches looked like they had been made from the same kind of wood.

If you looked straight ahead of the entrance, there was a big reception table, with 2 beautiful woman standing behind it. Beside the reception was a flight of stairs that went upstairs, but he could not see what was upstairs.

He walked up to the reception, behind a burly man, waiting for it to be his turn. He was at the moment in his own world, not really paying attention, he was finally going to live his dream.

"Sir? ... Sir?, can I help you??" He suddenly heard a beautiful female voice. It shook him awaked, as he looked toward the woman talking to him. It was one of the receptionists that was free to help him.

"Hello, I want to start as an adventurer"
