Getting to Know You

Brianna's POV

I took a huge bite of my pancake and a huge gulp of the drink. Wait, I need to slow down, I almost forgot but I can't help it because I am so hungry. Fine, I'll just chew as slowly as I could.

Meanwhile, the strange woman in front of me is now just waiting for me to finish. She's definitely itching to move around because she can't stop shaking her legs.

"Really?"

"Really, what?" I asked.

"Do you really eat that slow or are you doing that to annoy me?"

"I am not annoying you. I really just eat slow," I lied.

She tilted her head back, "You annoy me so much."

I cut another piece of pancake from my plate, "so tell me about yourself."

"What?"

I shrugged, "I'm Brianna Cho. 18. Birthday is on August 27, 1993. I live in Lavander St. Easy, right?"

She rolled her eyes at me, "fine. Might as well. Faye Santiago. Birthday is on January 3rd. You don't want to know what year because for sure you will be terrified. Where I live? Ugh...something I cannot disclose to you."

I nodded, "Okay...okay...Faye, great. You are opening up a little bit which is good. I also understand why you have to keep other things confidential. Although your birth year..."

"As I said before, I've been killing this same person for thousand years already. Try to get on with that information."

"Okay, so multiple years then..." Poor woman whoever that angel that she has to kill. That angel is basically being born to be tortured over and over again. "Have you ever thought that angel is also being punished too? Because the only reason why she is alive is to be killed by you, right?"

"It's her fault why she needs to suffer too."

"Huh?"

"I am not going to disclose further information to you. You are not that angel so who am I to reveal things to you? If you want questions regarding her situation, ask her not me."

"Can I even meet her?"

She shrugged, "I don't know. I don't even know where she is even."

"I see."

"Are you done yet? Can I take you home now so I could move on with my life?"

I nodded. I finished chewing my last bit and stood up. "Let's go home. I mean, yey. Take me home!"

Ones that she is gone, I will immediately go to the police station to report her.

She snapped her fingers and suddenly we are back in my room. The Holy Water I tried using on her earlier has completely spilled out from its bottle. The smoke from earlier must be something my mind just created since there is no sign of fire.

"Are you good now?"

"Hold on, my mother should be looking for me, right? I suddenly went missing from my own party after all."

"Yep, I think if they are normal people. They will search for you."

I pulled Faye with me to search around the house.

"Hey! Why are you pulling me for?"

We went to the kitchen, to the living room, to my mother's room, to the lawn but no one is around.

"Hey, stop it!" She tugged her arm away from me.

"No one is home."

"Okay, so? Wait for them on your own but I'm leaving."

I grabbed her hand. "No, it's your fault why my life right now is spiraling so you are coming with me. I'm just going to take a shower and then I will look for my mom."

"Ugh! No, I am not in any way obligated to stay around."

I glared at her.

"You think that will work with me?" She glared back at me.

Suddenly, the atmosphere on the lawn felt strange. I looked around and found what seems like a weird portal on our side.

"Angels?" Faye murmured under her breath.

"Angels?" I repeated.

Two figures passed through the portal and stood in front of us. Somehow, their presence seemed to have shaken Faye so she took a few steps back to be away from them.

"How are you doing?" The female angel asked me.

"Huh?" I blinked and rubbed my eyes. Is this real? Is this really happening? I took a good look at the 'angels'. They do not look very different from what a normal person would look like. They have feet, arms, heads, a face...just like a normal person would have. "No wings?" I asked.

The male angel chuckled, "we don't need them here on earth."

"What are you two doing here?" Faye hid behind me.

"To take you away from your key."

"Key? Hold on, so I got the right person after all?"

The female angel took out a sword from her back, "stay back, Faye."

Faye pulled me from my back by wrapping her arms around me. "No way." She took out a dagger from her coat and pointed it at my neck. "This is my freedom right here. What makes you think I'm going to let her go just like that?"

The male figure stepped forward, "you don't deserve freedom, Faye. Not after what you did."

"Why is she allowed to die but not me? She sinned too!" Faye cried. "I am so sick of living this way!"

So I am the angel that she was talking about? The one who probably made a huge mistake from long ago and now I am being punished to reincarnate over and over again just so she could kill me? She's not lying?

"You are not the only one undergoing the punishment, Faye," the female angel looked at me. "Someone is having it worse than you."

"How come she doesn't remember then? Her past reincarnation could remember me." Faye asked.

"It's a different punishment now. She did something unforgivable while she was in the process of reincarnation in this lifetime."

Faye's eyes landed on mine. "What did you do?"

I shrugged, "I am still trying to let every information sink into my head so I am as confused as you are right now."

Faye pushed me away from her almost throwing me into the hands of the angels.

"What the heck?" I groaned at her.

"All of you, get away from me." She was on verge of tears. "But we are not done here, Brianna. The angels will surely hide you from me again but once I've organized my thoughts, I will hunt you again and this time, I will really kill you." She said those words and disappeared.
