Foes To Face In Teuton

"Lady Roydon, it's alright. I'm not in any danger. If I was, my armor and sword should have appeared. Sir Noble, I understand and am aware of the title of Glorybringer, but to be honest, I was afraid of joining the ranks. After all, I may be gifted the title, but I haven't proved it yet."

"I thought that I would be better suited to the Pillars since I am usually always the offensive piece when in combat. I can do defensive when the time calls for it, but I don't prefer it. My style is to charge into battle and not hold back for any reason."

"The thrill of war, the exhilaration of combat, and the need for charging into battle without a second's thought is my way of living the dangerous life as a combatant. So no, even if you were to bribe me or fight with Mavislin about this matter, I won't join the Knights."

"Besides, I'm not only trained in swordfights and would prefer to use my fists more than a weapon. After all, a combatant must not always rely on a weapon during a tough fight," I explained, finishing my food.

Baldwin and Z glanced at each other before breaking out into smiles. Mavislin relaxed and retracted her wings, sensing that Baldwin wouldn't send me to God's doorstep.

"I was never going to steal you away from Mavislin. I stole baby Mavislin's food once, and I nearly lost my head that day, so I won't be stealing an underling. However, a quick piece of advice once you reach the Teuton Domain. Try not to show off too much of your sword skills."

"I understand that you might be fighting against the huge storm that will hit the West Coast but just be careful not to show the locals your combat style in sword fighting," warned Baldwin, changing to a serious expression.

"Why? Is there some stigma about women wielding a weapon?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"None at all. It's the fact that Teuton is under my command now. With the Earl abruptly killed during the fight against the Umbra, the whole Domain is now left without a head to rule such a big area. Sure, the wife is supposed to be filling the gap, but the locals don't trust her."

"And the power vacuum has caused the locals to form two main groups, the Left and Right Wings. Since I am left to deal with this problem, my Glorybringers, the highest ranks of the Knights, are all stationed in the Teuton Domain to maintain peace and halt the chaos."

"The Left Wing are the ones we Mages should worry about as they have a problem against practitioners of Magecraft. I don't know why they are so hell-bent on marching down the warpath against us, but that's the reality of the situation now."

"I'm lucky that the Right Wing is supporters of both the new leader and the Arks since they believe in the prosperity and peace of the Domain instead of waging silly fights like the other Wing. And the West Coast is filled with the Left Wing, so if they see a master swordsman..."

"They might lob my head off? That's all too common for me. However, if in the case that we get attacked, are we allowed to fight the Left Wing members? Or are they under your protection?" I asked while finishing Baldwin's sentence.

"I beg your pardon... What do you mean by 'we'?" asked Baldwin, perplexed.

"I'm bringing along a whiskey-loving Slayer, the Grim Reaper, a Kitsune, and a duel-wielding Time Mage into an area that hates Mages for being in their presence. So the question reefers to everyone in my Mission. What is the action plan once the Left Wing is attacking us?"

"Do we stay and beat them into submission or flee from them and get on with the main objective? Because if I can't force them to sit at one corner and brave that colossal storm concurrently, I might add the storm to decrease Teuton's overall population," I asked.

I swear... If those things get in my way, I will make them suck their thumbs.

"Well, I believe in fairness and justice, so you may fight them if they get in your way. But best not to since the Left Wing makes out nearly 60% of the entire population. So try to avoid them as much as possible. But if you do find yourself in a tight space, use this Signal Crystal," said Baldwin.

The Head Kight tossed me a small aquamarine crystal. I nearly dropped since I didn't expect the item to be so small. Vania analyzed the crystal, and multiple pop-ups detailing the material's origins appeared in my vision. Lastly, Vania labeled it as 'Passive.'
