Using the Illusion Element

Bright, red ribbons spang out from my blade and extended to the far ends of the room. Gripping the sword with both hands, I called out the spell and wiped out the rest of the children as my team tried their best not to get burned.

"Ribbon Dance of Solaris!" I shouted, swinging my sword horizontally.

After a few Ticks, Fabian was left standing and scanning the room as if he was in denial that I murdered a hoard of children. I sighed before placing the sword on my shoulder and strolling towards the Mage. But Vania sent me an alert as Fabian pulled off one last trick.

I froze as I saw who that disgusting man had conjured up. Of all the children to grab out, Fabian had to use him... I stepped back and laughed before tilting my head to the side and glaring at Fabian.

"Now I get it... You don't conjure up Familairs using bones... Using the Skill of Memory Peek, your Element is the Element of Illusion. You peeped through our memories through the Five Ducklings and conjured up children based on them," I replied, pointing my blade at Fabian.

To my shock, the man merely laughed as he moved the controller, forced the person in front of me to move, and gave him a sword.

"That's interesting... Even I had the Old Man Pond fooled about my powers, so I didn't expect a newcomer like you to understand my power so easily... So tell me, what was the trigger, and how did you find out?" questioned Fabian.

"The children we've fought were the paintings only from the hallway we had walked through. None of them were memories of other kids. If you truly needed powerful tools against us, you could have used our memories of the Orphanage but can't."

"But using this against me will be the last thing you'll do... I thought you would be a Mage and fight us like those before us, but I'm guessing modern problems needs modern solutions. And I'll show you that using my baby brother against me won't do you any good!" I roared.

"Oh? Would you slay your brother? From what I saw, you were very close to-"

Before that guy could finish, I had slaughtered the person before him and appeared in Fabian's vision with my blade in hand.

"Oceansoul's Whirlwind!" I shouted, sending a vortex with both Water and Wind Elemental Energy towards Fabian.

The Illusion Mage conjured up a random shield that blocked the attack but couldn't defend his back as Mordred appeared behind him to plunge her sword into the guy. A literal backstab... Heh, I never thought the Knight would do it again.

"Damn you! I knew I shouldn't have brought you back to life, you ungrateful wrench! Knight of Rebellion, a person who couldn't even kill her father... I should have known that you would be useless to me! Die now!" yelled Fabian as he crushed one of his sticks.

This triggers something in Mordred as she drops her sword and falls backward. I gasped and dashed to catch the falling Knight. What was going on?! The Slayer jumped onto the chance with Tomoe, and the two tried to kill Fabian, only to be stopped by Fabian's shield.

The two Mage fell back and split, coming on two opposite sides with their Original Spells.

"Fifth Tail: Sunset Swirl!" yelled Tomoe as he leaped up and contorted his body to spin while his blade produced a line of flames.

"Leos, Stars of the Lion!" shouted Bryan as he threw one of his scythes at Fabian's shield, resulting in a huge fireball.

As the two Mages' spells collided with Fabian, both backed up to allow the explosion, causing Fabian to go on a rampage and summon a lance that looked familiar to me... But I was busy trying to get Mordred back on track even to see their fight.

But from the sound of it, the two are having a blast at trying to play murder the puppet man.

"Hey! Mordred, are you alright? What's going on?" I asked while commanding Vania to do a scan on the Knight.

"Notice. Mordred's body is beginning to rot away as Fabian has stopped supplying Elemental Energy to her. Without the body, the Knight can no longer live in this realm."

"That's weird... I thought you were using your normal body that Fabian had dug up?"

"No... That would be impossible since my body has been buried for the past few centuries. Fabian had forced me into one of his porcelain dolls that used Elemental Energy to move around and function. But now, Fabian has severed the connections, so I can't survive here anymore."

"Good to know that I've met someone like you in my second round of living," said Mordred.
