She Knew The Terms Of Their Agreement

Vincent eyed the young man standing in front of him shrewdly. "What's your name, kid?"

"Steven Brizney. I'm a computer science and engineering student at UC Berkeley and I want to go into the field of AI as well."

"Not a bad ambition. Do you have something I can write on?"

His face fell. "Not on me, no."

"I do," Maya spoke up. She pulled a small moleskin notebook out of her purse that she always carried with her in case design inspiration struck and handed both it and a pen to her husband.

He cracked a smile. "Of course you do. How do you spell your name, Steven?"

"It's Steven with a 'v'. Thank you so much for this," Steven blubbered excitedly.

Vincent finished the autograph and carefully tore the page out of the notebook and handed it to the kid. "Here you go. Thanks for coming."
