"Finally, some time to relax." Jack yawned a little while standing in front of the canteen picking up some food and placing it on his plate.

When he finished doing so he looked around to find some suitable free table and saw Eve sitting at one of them.

With a smile, he walked over and sat down right across from her.

"Hey there."

Eve noticed him and smiled back. "Hey, Jack."

"How did your class go? Any luck with your art assignment?"

"Nope, still the same as last time. She rejected it again..."

"That sucks. Looks like we both don't have the greatest of days today, huh." Jack sighed thinking about his own day again.

"Doesn't sound like you had a good start?" She asked back to get a little bit more information from him.

"Nah, I got teamed up with that one hollow rock of a jock in science. A lot of muscles, wide shoulders, and blond short hair. Looks a lot like some tall door stop. MAy as well work as a bouncer somewhere. Maybe you can guess who I mean?" Jack smirked lightly in a ridiculing tone.

"Hah, sounds a lot like Dexter to me. He is the infamous dunce in school." Eve laughed lightly when listening to his description. "That one is an unlucky draw to have as a science partner for sure."

"I am definitely going to change that as soon as I can. That prick even tried to threaten me because he somehow thought I would submit to his demands." Jack rolled his eyes lightly.

"Hmm, are you not hungry or is it a diet thing I don't get?" Now he tried to change the topic after getting slightly annoyed again and noticed that Eve had no food in front of her.

That question got her a little bit startled and she looked a little bit uncomfortable.

"You don't have to answer if it's not something you like to talk about." Jack just raised a brow when seeing her behave like that. Maybe he just hit a sour spot?

"It's not like that. Why would I care about something like a diet..." she answered while looking to the side.

That one was for sure a small lie. No matter what, women were rather conscious about stuff like that so Jack didn't dig deeper into the matter.

"It's just that I noticed too late that my sister forgot to give me some pocket money to buy food."

Picking up some peas with his fork and placing them inside his mouth Jack just listened and looked at her intently while chewing.

At one point, he could clearly hear a small growl from her that was coming from her empty stomach.

Jack just smirked since he could clearly see a blush on her face surfacing as well.

"You know, I could just go and grab another plate for you if you want?", he asked her now while pointing his fork towards her.

"What!? No, that won't be necessary!" She immediately got somewhat flustered. But her denial only got her another growl.

"Just tell me what you would like to have." Jack laughed softly and stood up to indicate that he wouldn't sit down again until she told him what to get her.

Sure, he kept his distance at first when she said it was alright, but she clearly was hungry so there was no way he would just ignore that.

Sitting in front of her and eating while her stomach growled was also not exactly doing his consciousness any good.

She only looked at him and then sighed. "Okay..." Then she went on to tell him what she would like and he went over to get another plate.

Shortly after getting the food and paying he came back and placed it in front of her. "Here you go. Eat up."

"Thanks. I will make sure to pay you back." Eve nodded at him and started to eat the food.

"Don't sweat it. Things like this are no big deal." Jack was now the one that reassured her that it was alright. "So you have a sister?"

Jack now mentioned something he learned from her and could use that to get to know her more.

"Yeah, I got an older sister. She is the owner of the local tattoo parlor."

"Wait, seriously!?" Jack now raised both brows in surprise at hearing there was a tattoo parlor in this town. "That is a good thing to know! I thought I would have to take a trip to the city to get myself some ink."

Eve now stared at him a little bit surprised herself. "You want to get yourself under the gun?"

"Yeah, not right now but in the near future as soon as I put some money to the side."

"Where on your body do you want to get them done?" Eve now looked closer at his body.

She noticed that he did lack somewhat in the muscle mass department but he sure did at least managed to keep himself fit with the sharp collarbone and facial features that he had.

For just a short minute she found herself realizing that Jack was way more attractive than she first had evaluated. Especially now that she looked at him right from the front.

"Ehem, it's the arms, about shoulder length, I think. Still considering if I should go with both or just my dominant right arm." He raised his right arm and ran along it with his left to indicate how far he wants to make it.

Jack just played it off when she eyed him up.

"That is quite a lot of space you want to paint."

"Yep, and that is why I got to save up a lot of cash. Not that I mind, though. Come to think, you would definitely know where a good barbershop is, right? Since you got your hair dyed there I can be sure about them doing a good job."

Now Eve widened her eyes again and she started smirking shortly after. "That one is also my sister's work."

"Seriously? Now that is coincidental. She must be some multi-talent then. A job well done. It definitely looks great on you."

Eve blushed hearing him compliment her hair now. "But why the sudden change in the topic now?"

"Well, since we are talking about artistic changes, I just wanted to mention that I also want to get my hair dyed as well. I'm still thinking about either going with white, neon green, or a very light blue. But I lean mainly towards platin blond that is close to translucent white."

"That is...a unique color to chose. Don't you think you would look old with it?" Sure enough, Eve was teasing him about his choice of color but inside her mind, she was definitely interested in seeing him with that dye job.

After all, she was also using dye. So who would she be to bicker about something like that? The only thing she could say is that he should go for it.

"Nah, that's grey. Besides, I hear that grey makes you more attractive. Imagine me having a short facial beard and my hair a lot shorter with small grey patches at some buzz-cut sides. Would I not look rather wise and alluring that way?" He joked about old men getting better in the years. But this whole stigma about aging being bad is really a thing that needs to pass at some point.

Eve just stared at him when he placed a hand at his chin and caressed his clean jawline. His somewhat smug smirk also didn't make it better and she had to chuckle.

"You would actually remind me of someone. And believe me, you don't want that." She showed him a toothy grin.

"Oh, is that so? How come?"

"If you ever come by our place, you could meet the person, I think you will immediately know what I mean. So I'm not going to take the fun out of it with just telling you right now." She remained rather mysterious while still being amused about the idea. "Just stick with dying your hair white. I actually want to see that."

"Why do I get the feeling this will be a shocker?" Jack smirked back at her.

"Who knows?" Eve rolled her eyes lightly.
