Tormented by loan sharks, Lorn had lived the life of an 'ascetic'. He would willingly become homeless and live the life of a beggar (and only sometimes a pickpocket), so his hard-earned money wouldn't fall into his debtors' hands. Hopefully, they would finally leave him alone after realizing he's worth nothing anymore.

But realizing his plans, the debtors decide to sell him as a guinea pig!

However, Lorn finds a once-in-a-lifetime chance. The researchers were creating a virtual world using the digital space. And to create profits from it, instead of simply creating boring-old Virtual Earth (and calling it the Metaverse), they were making a game out of it!

Falling Cosmos

The Ashin royal palace was located at the highest spot in Tyvat. It was something akin to the Forbidden City of China with a variety of coexisting alongside the main palace. In a way, it was even bigger than China's royal palace, as there were five underground levels that kept the Tyvat residents safe and well-fed in case of an invasion or some other disaster.

On top of that, the Ashin royal palace was much more impressive as it was built between the three highest mountain peaks of Tyvat. The three-pointed heavenly cradle, as the locals called them. Even more miraculously, it was warmer there than most of the rest of the country, as the cradle shielded it from the winds.

Of course, such protection didn't really matter much in such heights. Some places had a primal nature to them, an inherent something. The peaks – they were inherently cold. They were also cruel. Spend three hours outside at the wrong times and you could easily find yourself dead.
