Tormented by loan sharks, Lorn had lived the life of an 'ascetic'. He would willingly become homeless and live the life of a beggar (and only sometimes a pickpocket), so his hard-earned money wouldn't fall into his debtors' hands. Hopefully, they would finally leave him alone after realizing he's worth nothing anymore.

But realizing his plans, the debtors decide to sell him as a guinea pig! 

The One Country's grand experiment attempting to copy a human's consciousness and put it inside the digital space! The only catch is, 80% of the test subjects are expected to receive lasting damages to their brain. 

However, Lorn finds a once-in-a-lifetime chance. The researchers were creating a virtual world using the digital space. And to create profits from it, instead of simply creating boring-old Virtual Earth (and calling it the Metaverse), they were making a game out of it!

Falling Cosmos

Gwen had lived life as much as possible in the real world. It didn't feel any special.

She entered the One World a lost and bored soul; and she came out someone passionate and dedicated. Now, the only thing that mattered to her was her craft and her chimeras.

Though, Gwen often wondered how the One Leader knew to give her these skills exactly. He didn't ask him what she was interested in, he didn't even talk to her for more than ten minutes before. He simply became her Spirit Partner and the system granted her the skills she needed, as if the One Leader didn't have any other skills on his body.

'Now that I think about it, right before we ranked up our Spirit Bond, the One Leader's presence became a bit stronger, didn't it?' Gwen thought.

Back then, she couldn't really understand what was going on, but thinking about it now, the One Leader must've unlocked the necessary skills so they could go to Gwen properly.

The decision to leave
