The Dining Room

"We have no rules made for a Princess."

King Amish spoke, addressing the guests.

Gathered in the dining room were the Kings and Queens of the eight Kingdoms along with the Ancient One.

"What should we do, Acharya?" The Queen of Maya asked her teacher.

All eyes were fixed on the Ancient One, the one who had once predicted that there will be no princess born to this land.

Seated beside King Maya, the senior-most lady in the room savoured on her herbal tea. She then placed the cup back and calmly spoke,

" She will be following the rules of noblewomen,

Executing Royal Duties as that of a Prince."

The members in the hall nodded in agreement.

"What about the Love Trial?" King Maya asked, worried.

The Ancient One gave a smile as she spoke,

" For that, you have two choices

To lock the door and hide in fear

Keep her a secret

Till she is the heir.

Or Show her around

To the world.

She will find love sooner

And the trial is done. "

...

Silence prevailed in the room.

Two choices were given, one promised captivity while the other, freedom.

"If she falls in love early,"

The King of Conir spoke up,

"without being Knowledgeable enough, her choices would be poor."

"So we keep her a secret?" King Maya queried.

"I would say that would be reasonable." The King of the kingdom of Knowledge nodded.

"Acharya," King Maya spoke to his teacher," I don't want my daughter to be unhappy."

"Who says she will be so?"

The Ancient One reasoned.

"Not having the freedom to meet other people is a nightmare for a child!"

The King argued.

"Who says she can't do that?"

The teacher smiled.

King Amish stood there confused.

He gazed blankly at his teacher,

the one who had never aged a day and looked as pretty as she did thousands of years ago.

The Ancient One spoke again,

"She will be a secret.

People won't know her

even if she walks right past them.

She will thus

have more freedom

than you ever did."

"Oh, will you hurry!"

A seventeen-year-old called out to her best friend as she waited for her by the threshold.

"My hair is a mess!"

Chelsea scoffs as she keeps fidgeting with the fallen strands.

"I will need more than a petty minute, Anu!" She said to her impatient cousin.

The two sisters were running late for the Balance Class.

Ananya had just returned from a Hunting expedition and found Chelsea in such a sorry state.

Having woken up late again, she was dressed in an evening gown, her hair was unkempt while her face wasn't even rinsed.

It took her an entire 15 minutes to look presentable.

"All done!"

Chelsea sprang up from

her seat and exclaimed.

Not a moment put to spare, the duo head to the class, hurrying down the

Grand Staircase and finally

entering the Ballroom.

"Late again,"

Acharya raised her eyebrows and said as the two tried to sneak past their teacher.

Trying her best to not hang her head down in embarrassment,

Ananya folded her hands and asked for forgiveness. Chelsea followed her feat.

Acharya let them in with a nod and began the lessons.

"What is it with you two?"

Ara hissed from behind.

"Both the sisters are just lazy,

I presume." Caroline sneered and gave the sisters a nasty look from the side.

The sisters ignored the sneer and paid attention to Acharya instead.

For the world,

These cousins were blood sisters.

But in reality,

Chelsea was the only daughter of the Queen's younger sister, while

Ananya was the Secret Princess.

They were quite similar in looks.

Despite Ananya's brown hair and Chelsea's jet black, they were of the same height and skin. The two sisters grew up together and Chelsea was the only noblewoman who knew about Ananya's true identity.

"Anu!"

Acharya called out.

Hearing her name,

Ananya stepped forward.

The Ancient One, i.e, their beloved Acharya, was among the few people who know her real name, but of course, called her by her nickname.

As Acharya stepped forward,

carrying a heavy stack of books,

Ananya felt her knees tremble.

Last time she had failed miserably as she hurt her ankle in a horse race and couldn't take more than two steps with the books on her head.

As she kept pondering about this, Acharya placed the stack on her head.

It felt heavier than the previous one.

Taking a deep breath, Ananya slowly steadied herself and straightened her spine. She took careful strides and walked in a perfect stance. Trying her best to maintain the speed, she took the turn around the corner and head back to the frontline in grace steps.

Acharya smiled and relieved her of the burden. Ananya gave her a respectful bow and head to the other side of the room.

All of a sudden, the doors sprung open.

A palace guard came in and spoke,

" Acharya! The King is asking for your presence. "

...

A few minutes later

...

Somewhere in the

Royal Gardens of Maya

...

"What do you want now?"

Acharya said irritably.

A man hid in the shadows and calmly whispered a few words to her.

"She is supposed to remain a Secret!"

Acharya hissed at his remark.

"Whatever happens, her soulmateshouldn't be the first man she meets." The man hissed back.

"She isn't gonna fall in love."

Acharya sighed.

"The one who's coming? He is gonna make it happen."

The man smirked and added,

"And they will calling True Love!"
