The Unbeatable Foe

[Ren]

I'm now facing against the strongest swordsman and a kind King. That's how the people view him. However, all I can see is a father with honor and pride.

He is the best father that I have only taken for granted. No one else can replace him.

How many years has it been? Maybe 500?

If only I can turn back the time, I would have listened to you instead but I was too foolish.

"Father, I'll be taking responsibility. This is my way of apologizing to you and your people."

Dervalin nods. He is a ghoul and his head is just a skull so it's hard to figure out his expression. However, I know that he isn't the least bit mad regarding what happened.

"My child, don't hold back. There is no need to apologize. Make sure to kill me and Sagus." He says in a calm tone.

I grit my teeth. Why is my sword heavy out of all days? If he called for my name, I'm not sure if I can fight against him.

The time when I killed him back then, left a deep scar in my heart that I can never forget.

Dervalin looks at Vermil and Verni who are fighting the rest. "Aren't they good friends? I'm glad you found one even in this type of place."

I nod. "Ye-yeah."

"I want to talk to you more but I'm under Sagus' control. Be sure to use your full strength because I won't also hold back. Be strong *******."

My father just called out my name. It ached my heart. I would have hesitated to fight but remembering Verni and Vermil. I have friends now and this is my resolve to help them.

I then grip at my sword tightly and charge.

[Holy Judgement]!

Without hesitation, I then use a holy spell.

Dervalin then raises his sword. His weapon Excalibur is a legendary weapon that listens to the will of its user. It can also cut anything, even non-tangible entities like space, spirits, and even the emotions of a person.

I have witnessed what it can do. It is quite dangerous that I must dodge his attacks.

"Sky Field Division!" He says.

I then evade to the left. A large flying slash slices the floor into two or maybe it's the whole world that got cut?

After the slash, it causes me to be disoriented.

I then fall to the wall and stick on it. Which I find odd at first since gravity doesn't work sideways. Then I remember it's the ability of the Excalibur.

It can play funny with space and gravity. That's how my father battles. I now know that he is serious.

Once again, Dervalin raises his sword and then cuts in a horizontal direction, slicing the wall into two. I barely dodge that attack.

Afterward, it causes me to fall towards where Dervalin is. He manipulated gravity again.

He then poses to strike, pointing his sword at me. "You better dodge from this attack!"

As I fall to him, he is impossible to dodge.

"Father err, no, strongest swordsman bring it on!

However, I decided I shall take him on. With my [holy judgment] on stand by, I then aim it at him.

"Universal Division!"

"Holy Judgement!

This skill is effective in slaying the undead. I make sure to use most of my ability now.

Afterward, we exchange blows, causing a burst of light to shine everywhere. A great rumble occurs that slices the entire mansion into thousands of pieces.

It then falls over and crumbles.

I then fall and I got buried in rocks. I then stand up to assess myself.

It left cracks and slices on my skull and some parts of my body but it seems it is my win. My holy sword, Exclusion is broken into several pieces as well.

Regardless, I feel satisfied now. Years ago I thought obtained the title of the strongest swordsman since I defeated my father.

However, right now, since he did not hold back, I can say I have earned it.

For now, I shall find Verni and Vermil right now and help them as soon as possible!

[Verni]

Just when I thought that Ancient guy has no tricks left, it seems he has thousands.

I kept popping up in various locations. From the desert to tundra, to a lively forest, a wasteland. It happens every 5 minutes and I don't even know where that guy is.

Using my [Ultimate Long Sight] I can say this isn't an illusion. The details of the terrain, the smell, and the air of the surroundings feel real.

I think I'm being teleported.

Am I being played here?

This time I pop up in mid-air.

Looking below, searing and gurgling magma awaits me.

Eck!

I then use my skill [Silk Shooter] to stick on the cave ceiling. That saved me.

If this isn't an illusion how the hell can I break this spell. It doesn't look like I have a debuff.

That bastard is probably playing with me with his high-tier spatial spells.

I am then teleported but this time in a dark cave. There is no light so I have to use my skill [Ultimate Long Sight] to see.

Thankfully, there is no danger here.

No matter how much he teleports me, I can tell I'm still inside the dungeon. I can use [Map] to confirm it.

[Infinite Dungeon - Legendary Ring - Leviathan's domain]

"Leviathan?"

I can hear cries from the distance. It seems to be a woman. Tracing where it leads, I stumbled upon a large cage.

Behind the bars, there is a figure of a woman. She seems to be imprisoned. There are chains imbued with dark energy on her arms and legs.

I have seen too many movies and played too many games to know where this leads.

It's a trap, isn't it?

I then clear my throat. "Ahem, uh..."

She gasps when she notices my presence. She then clings upon the bars and begs in desperation. "Please save me from this place I beg you. My name is Levia and I can't leave here."

I scratch my head. I can't see her face since it is covered by her long hair. "Umm, hehe, hello. My name is Verni."

"I'll do anything you want me to do just get me out of this place. That's right, I can be your servant and I will serve you forever."

"I don't know where to start."

"Just defeat Sagus and it w---"

Without my notice, I then get teleported to Fardol's castle. I didn't even get the chance to listen to what she is about to say.

Right now, I notice the castle has crumbled. I am outside. I didn't see any signs of Vermil and Ren. I wonder where they are right now.

Due to Sagus' heavy presence, I can't sense Vermil and Ren. I hope they are fine.

Sagus is just hovering above me. His robe flutters constantly. He sure has this frightening presence.

Looks like round 2 of our battle is about to start.

We then battle each other. However, it seems one-sided. I can't damage even one of his HP.

My clone betrayal won't also save me for long since my clone has the maximum damage it can carry.

I have to go all out and end this.

I activate several skills at the same time. I create several clones and let them cast various skills.

Numerous magic circles appear around Sagus, using [Earth Capture] rocks levitating from the ground and gathering around him. Then with [Scorching Sun], a giant fireball descends from the sky then devours him.

Lightning strikes from various directions also barrage Sagus using [Thunderous Trap]. Following it with raining ice spears from me [Ice Rain]. And finally, several casts of [Cursing Flames] burn him with dark flames.

However, I have done this method several times. There is barely any strategy and I'm only spamming my skills. I know this is going nowhere.

I then have 50 of my clones use [Meteor Doom] from the sides. When it all hit him, a huge explosion occurs rumbling the environment.

I then run away to a safe distance.

Looking back, a thick smoke covers the air. A figure appears after it settled down.

I sigh. He is quite tough, huh.

I then feel something odd from Sagus. He raises his arm and red clouds emerge above the city. It is red and looks like it is brimming with energy.

[Warning: High Calamity Mythical Level Spell!

Hell's Rain is activating! ]

I don't know what it does but I'm sure it is not good. I have to find a way to dodge this!

Afterward, the red clouds shoot out energy. They look like raindrops but when each of the lands upon the ground, a giant explosion occurs.

The entire city turns into an explosive area. Not a centimeter of the land is spared from the repeated eruptions. It seems it also won't end for a while.

One may question if Sagus also intends to destroy this domain.

Thirty minutes passed until finally, the effects of skill is over. Even while down here, I can tell that skill alone is enough to wipe out an entire country.

Using earth affinity skills, I managed to dig down deep on the ground to shield against [Hell Rain].

Climbing up, I notice the entire city has been cleared completely into a crater. Not one structure is left.

I'm lucky I survived. Seeing my MP, it looks like I will be reaching my limit soon. I can even feel myself being worn out. I pant.

.

[Mana Points: 55,000/2,500,000 ]

Seeing my mana, I don't have much left.

I grit my teeth. What should I do?

Ren appears out of nowhere, leaping and then slashes Sagus.

It surprises me that Sagus dodges his swing.

Ren then lands on the ground and runs close to me. "I have come to assist you."

That's right, I now understand what I can do to take him down. I then smile.
