The Coming of the First Apostle

[Rendora]

Almost one fourth of the city houses get decimated due to my fight with Levia. I didn't expect we would leave this much damage since I was just trying to prove a point.

Levia has this unusual ability in which she can send invisible attacks as well as defend herself with an invisible wall. I find it hard to defend against it since I can't see it.

Right now, since I was lunging myself towards her I got deflected and I'm flying outward at immense speed.

Damn it! I have no way to break through her defense.

Looks like she's serious as well.

I slam on the ground hard, causing a minor earthquake, while also, being buried in debris.

"Ren, I'm sorry but I will have to end the childish charade here. Also, I will have to eliminate you here for our Lord's sake. Us with the essence of darkness cannot trust those who is affiliated with the church."

I hear her voice through the rubbles. After breaking out through it, I take a deep breath and stand firmly. It's thanks to the [Void Armor] that I'm able to withstand her annoying attacks.

She said something she shouldn't have and I'm pissed. "For Verni's sake? Do you have any idea how much crap we went through in that tower? You assume too much despite being new. If there is someone suspicious it should be you."

"Then what are you planning to do in the future? You're obviously an elite holy knight and a crusader. If you can betray your family and kingdom for the churches' sake who's to say you won't betray our Lord?! In fact, you probably already betrayed him." Her blood-red eyes pierce at me as she is making her point.

That time, back then in the dungeon, I lost my cool and planned to betray him.

I lower my head as I speak with heavy lips.

"Yes--I did, but I won't betray him again. Besides I abandoned my oath from the church."

Right now since I'm quite annoyed, I'll have to mess her up and teach her a lesson. I have been practicing the ultimate move from my father, however, I still can't perfect it.

To our side, a giant werewolf charges at us, I think it's that Shenmir guy's form. We didn't even notice him.

"You damn worms! I'm still here! I'll make you regret ignoring me!" He launches his claws coated with dark dense mana energy.

"Shut up!" Levia and I yell in unison. With my holy punch and her punch striking the werewolf at the same time, we send him flying outward.

[Ken]

That's ridiculous, I can't believe they sent the leader of the Shadow Ryushin flying away in his werewolf form. Just who are these two? Regardless, I have to report to Sir Wiln, the first apostle. He'll take care of those two since he's already here.

[Rendora]

That's right Levia, just stay in the air and wait for my attack. I ready to pose as the light magic is surging on my blade.

"Sky Field--"

That's right this was my father's ability. Even though excalibur can cut anything its limits rests upon the user. With my father's techniques, he has a certain style in which he can cut the whole space.

However, I cancel my skill when I see Verni's clone carrying himself crossing through the sky.

What the hell is going on?

Levia gets worked up after seeing it and decides to chase them. "My lord!" She says worriedly and disappears with them to the sky.

"Hey wait!"

Damn it, those bastards just left me. Cursed them for being able to fly.

Looks like I have no choice but to pursue them and catch up by land.

I sprint as I try to catch up with them. However, I come across a battered up old man lying on the ground. Looks like he is of the werewolf race. Normally, I would ignore him but he grabs my foot causing me to halt.

"Hey! Hands off old man!"

"Please bring me with you. Leave this city as fast as you can! He is coming!"

"Huh?! Who is coming?"

"Wiln, the first apostle! He will destroy this city!"

Huh? The first apostle?

"Who the hell is that?"

[Garfurd]

Just when I met up with Shira's friends, I can't believe we met up with trouble. Rendon, Leon, Nathan are holding a defense against the werewolves. We are holding our ground as we try to protect the unconscious adventurers. We can't let them kidnap the adventurers after all.

As for me, I'm trying to protect Kezia as she assesses the unconscious adventurers. She is peering into their spirit, finding clues on why everyone got all sent to sleep. While being at it, she is trying to wake them up and lift the spell.

"Miss Kezia, did you find anything?"

"It seems to be an ancient and unique spell that clouds the consciousness with negative emotions, forcing them to shut down. If you have a certain tolerance you will only experience fear like we did back then."

She takes a deep breath after she's done casting her spell on the adventurer. The adventurer wakes up with a groggy head. "What the hell happened?"

After explaining to the confused adventurers, they joined with us on our battle against the werewolves.

Rendon is amused seeing the adventurers who woke up especially Kezia was successful in lifting the spell. "Nice Kezia! Now, revive the rest of the adventurers as well."

Kezia smiles while patting her muscles. "Leave it to me!"

[Leon]

These werewolves aren't big deal most of them are around an outmost to level fifty. Since we've levelled up beyond a hundred we can take down most of them.

Not to mention, our allies are increasing since Kezia are waking them up one by one. With Garfurd acting as their commander we are holding our line still against them.

The only question is if our stamina allows it, because they keep coming one after another and we don't know when this will end.

Also, we have to ensure that Kezia revives the adventurers before we ran out of energy.

Our team can defend against the werewolves in the meantime. They ain't a big deal. If we keep this up we can win.

At some point, the werewolves decides to stop attacking and hold their line seeing our strong defense.

"Damn it, these humans are tough." Says a werewolf.

One werewolf snickers, "they won't be for long. Sir Wiln will be here soon. We all know nothing in this world can defeat Sir Wiln."

Wiln? Who is he talking about? Is it another big shot like the masked man from earlier? If so this will be a bit of trouble.

Above us, a giant bird is circling the skies. It's no ordinary bird since it seems to be a toy made of wood. It moves organically as though it's alive but isn't.

"Guys, its Fenna!" Kezia says.

"Oh good timing!" Rendon adds.

I heard Fenna volunteered for a special secret mission for the President with only the two of them knowing. I'm curious as well but it seems she is done with that mission.

I hate how the president is treating her as though she is special over the rest of us.

"Geez, looks like the pink haired loli brat is here." I say jokingly. In which i get hit by a stone from above. "Ouch!"

Fenna that damn loli, but I'm relieved she is here since things will become easier.

"I heard that Leon." She speaks, riding her giant toy bird hovering over us.

Looking in front of me, I can see that Garfurd is frozen. He looks unto the distance outside the city into the deep eastern forest. "Leon, take everyone else and fly with Fenna. I have a bad feeling about this. This is no ordinary damn enemy."

Knowing Garfurd, for him to panic like this is must be quite a big deal. I think it's now a life or death situation.

Fenna's giant bird toy lands close to us. "Leon, we recieved the message you sent. The president says you've done enough. Looks like the truth about this cult is much deeper than we thought."

"What do you mean?"

I pay attention as Fenna articulates the truth with her lips. "The Neo-Infitius cult is just a thumb of the demons through out the continent. The truth is their operations are found almost everywhere in the shadows, which means there are demons here as well. A lot of them. This might be a scheme of the powerful demon lord since he might have been revived. This might be something in which your team won't be enough. We shall retreat and I will give you all the details later!"

I don't want to leave but it seems I have no choice. This is the president's orders after all. "Guys we are leaving."

Rendon looks in disbelief. "Are you sure about that Leon? I don't think we don't have any results yet."

"We are thinking the same but guys, trust the president. Her instincts are always right." I say before hopping on the giant bird.

Rendon sighs as though dismayed. "Alright, Shira simp."

The others follow as well, mounting on Fenna's giant bird.

"Hey! I heard that Rendon!" I spat at Rendon, in which he only cracks laughing. He seems to be enjoying teasing me.

An aggressive werewolf hops as well trying to chase us. He cackles, readying his blade as he aims to swing his sword to Kezia.

Garfurd shows up and tackles him off unto the ground.

"Hurry!" Garfurd kicks the giant toy bird causing it to flap its wings and fly away. He is also holding against the werewolves that are trying to attack us.

"Garfurd, what about you?"

"Hey, Sir Garfurd what are you doing?!" Says Kezia.

"I'll hold them off besides I have something important to do. Not to mention, I can't leave the adventurers here alone to fight against the werewolves." He says with a determined expression.

Right now, we are moving away from the ground and Sir Garfurd. Damn it, if we leave him here he will die.

I quickly come close to Fenna urgently.

"Fenna, return at once!"

"Sir Garfurd told us to go." She says coldly with a straight face.

It gets on my nerves, I hold her collar up and confront her. "Damn you loli, return at once or I'll jump and save him."

"Leon, calm down. If you do so you're not cut out to be a leader."

"Huh?!"

"Sir Garfurd wants us to leave because he senses danger that will endanger everyone. If you can't process that and you would rather risk endangering your team then you shouldn't be a leader."

Those words cut deep on my chest. Looking around me, Rendon, Kezia and even Nathan are quiet.

"Fenna, are you sure about this?" Nathan says as though he is holding back.

Fenna nods, "Freya gained one shard point of future prediction. In which according to her, three of you will die if you waste any more time in that place."

Shard points, huh? I remember that is Freya's skill since she is bearing the system of the [Enigmatic Seer]. She can predict a small fragment of the future accurately but it can also be avoided if we choose a different path.

We used it couple of times before such as predicting the assassination of the Prince or that time when we ambushed an evil noble.

Looks like I have no choice but to listen to Fenna and Freya but this is frustrating.

Fenna's cold stare is steady at me as my grip on her collar tightens. "If you understand, unhand me."

I unhand her and stare silently to Garfurd becoming smaller and more distant as we leave into the skies.

Garfurd, you have to make it out no matter what for Shira's sake!
