It has been half a month since Wang Yu left the Rainbow Copper City. Fortunately, he hasn't met any demon or a cultivator so his journey was free of big problems. Just some weak bandits and beasts nothing much to the current Wang Yu whose strength was nearing the peak of the second level of Qi Condensation.
On the way, Wang Yu meditated while sitting on the horse while keeping some attention to the surroundings. He would also drink the tea prepared with the Spirit Pot, which allowed his mind to attain a higher level of clarity. His sense had elevated further allowing him to feel an ant moving ten meters from him.
The effect of the tea became better when he bought a first-grade spiritual herb inside the sect, since then he will only drink tea from that herb. And the longer the tea stayed inside the spirit pot the better its quality would become.
Wang Yu was thinking of keeping the tea for three months inside the Spirit Pot "I'm curious about what will happen then."
The only problem was that it meant that he wouldn't be able to drink the tea for a while, and if he did the quantity would be very small.
As the sun was setting down, Wang Yu approached his village. He felt a strange sense of urge to rush toward the village and meet the villagers but he knew the sect's regulations which stated that one wasn't allowed to return to his hometown before three years, so while he could come stealthy he might be punished if he enters publicly. So he decided to only meet the Lui Family and see how they were going.
Wang Yu stopped and tied the horse in a hidden place, he didn't fear it being hunted because no beast has reached the silver tier in the surrounding area.
He then walked stealthily toward the village. On the way, he saw some villagers returning from the hunt.
"The hunt today was bad, if it continues like this I'm not sure how we will be able to feed ourselves. All this because of that strange cobra, from the day it came all the beasts have become very afraid and don't dare leave their hidings but scarcely." Said one of the hunters whom Wang Yu was familiar with, beside him was someone Wang Yu didn't want to meet.
That man was Lu Tang, Lu Fu's father. He was one of the best hunters in the village and was always competing with Lui Fu's father, he even gave his first son the same name as Lui Chen's son.
Lui Chen wanting to comfort his people said "I don't think it'll stay long, after all it had shed most of its skin and this place is barren compared to the east where the strong and big beasts stay."
"When my son returns, I bet he will kill it easily." Said Lu Tang who would always proudly talk about his son.
Wang Yu who was on the branch felt deep sadness and sympathy for this man who didn't know about his eldest son's death. He didn't know what was the right decision, should he tell him or should he hide it, he had even brought him protective clothes but in this situation what should he tell when he asked about his son?
"Hahaha, brother Lu you've started again." Another hunter joked.
"What should I do if my son's brilliant, even the chief had the same thought and wrote my son's name in our village history book."
"Friend, we both know that you're illiterate, so how did you read your son's name?" Hearing this joke everyone burst into laughter, except Wang Yu who was still above a big tree.
"Hmph, I can read my son's name even when my eyes are closed." Sneered Lu Tang.
"Then you are not reading." The hunters continued joking with Lu Tang while returning to the village. They were bringing some games with them, but unfortunately, it was less than what they usually bring.
Instead of following them, Wang Yu went to the forest at which the villagers hunted.
Usually, it would be filled with animals, with the strongest being at the copper tier, it was this village's source of nourishment. Without it, they won't be able to survive, this is why Wang Yu had decided to go and exterminate that snake before it makes a calamity, he had seen the hunters who were paler than usual and this made him extremely angry.
With Wang Yu's speed and sense, he soon found the snake. It was a huge cobra with a length of ten meters, it was sleeping soundlessly unafraid, and its mere presence was enough to intimidate any beast in this small forest. Wang Yu estimated that it should be at the second level of Qi Condensation.
Suddenly it opened its eyes and looked warily at Wang Yu, its beast instinct told it that this small being in front of her was very dangerous.
Wang Yu looked back at the cobra, his eyes cold and filled with killing intent. He slowly pulled out his sword and took a step forward.
The cobra hissed, ready to strike, but Wang Yu was too fast. In a flash, he slashed at the cobra with his sword. The cobra tried to dodge, but it was too slow.
The two clashed, the sharp sound of metal against scales echoing through the forest. Unfortunately, the cobra only sustained a small injury, and after several clashes, the sword even started to show signs of wear and tears.
Wang Yu sheathed his sword and took a deep breath. He didn't like fighting barehanded but so what, he had no other choice.
Seeing him put his sword on its stealth, the cobra hissed and lunged at him, but Wang Yu was quick to dodge. He leaped to the side and grabbed the cobra's tail, using his strength to swing it around and slam it onto the ground.
The cobra writhed and tried to strike at him with its fangs, but Wang Yu was too fast. He evaded the attack and delivered a series of powerful punches and kicks to the cobra's body.
Their fight continued for minutes and just when Wang Yu evaded one of the cobra's attacks, it coiled around his body, trying to suffocate him. But Wang Yu was not one to give up easily. He used his strength to break free from the cobra's grip and continued to attack it relentlessly.
The fight didn't stop, it was the longest battle Wang Yu had fought and his opponent has the same strength as that fox that nearly killed him before, it was shocking how in a span of a year Wang Yu was capable of fighting on equal with a demon at the second level of Qi Condensation.
The fight went on with both Wang Yu and the cobra sustaining injuries. But in the end, Wang Yu emerged victorious. He stood over the lifeless body of the cobra, panting and covered in sweat, he had even sustained some injuries.
His arms were sore and tired, but he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. He had defeated a beast at the second level of Qi Condensation.
He also felt more confident in himself, meeting that fox in the Darkness Forest gave a huge blow to his morals, unfortunately, it was already killed by his Senior Sister Qin Li.
Wang Yu started to dissect the cobra, he took its eyes and some of its undamaged skin, also some of its bones.
After that, Wang Yu sat on it and started to absorb its blood according to the Blood Devouring Technique. His body was like a sponge absorbing all the essence of the cobra's blood, its qi, and vitality.
He then guided the absorbed blood toward his heart to refine it according to the Everlasting Turtle Technique, the quantity of blood was too much for him, so he had to refine it further to absorb it fully.
When the blood entered his heart, it was transformed to vitality which then went mostly to his viscera nourishing them and tempering them further since he was at the Viscera Tempering stage, it also to his other parts such as skin, tendons, muscles, and bones.
Wang Yu stayed in this state for two hours during which he continued tempering his viscera further, he felt that he had finished a third of the Viscera Tempering. It was shocking since the snake was huge and contained a lot of vitality nonetheless as the technique stated the stronger he became the more resources he would need.
But even so, he felt his body getting stronger, his muscles bulging. If he fought again with the cobra, he would finish it faster than before and with less effort.
The only downside was that as he get stronger, he will need to absorb Yin Energy so that his body returns to equilibrium. If not, he may find himself in a situation similar to the one in the Rainbow Copper City or even worse.
After he finished, he buried the mummied cobra carefully before going to the village.
