Meeting

The Wizard King started the meeting, giving Julian a glance. For a moment, Julian thought he saw the Wizard King's eyebrow wrinkle. Did Julius see his future, or did his magic not work on him?

They were asked to wait outside while the captains began their discussion. Yami had told Julian earlier that every captain had some report regarding various things like budget, health, reports from borders, crime situations, and major incidents.

After two hours of discussion, the dungeon exploration came up, and Julian and the others were called in. Julius took out a device, and Julian's fight against the dungeon was played in front of every captain.

"Now that the overview is given, I would like everyone to share their experiences," Julius said.

One by one, everyone gave their experiences in the trials and how they passed them before fainting.

Lastly, it was Julian's turn. He described the details they missed along with a detailed description of the boss and the fight. He didn't mention the Sharingan, only saying that he gained a new spell which enhanced his senses and firepower.

Inner Thoughts:

Nozel: "Sure enough, he was chosen by the four-leaf grimoire. His level of skill is not something a newly joined magic knight should have. I should have brought him to my squad when I had the chance."

Fuegoleon: "Looks like my sister trained the right seed. He has already unlocked mana pressure. If he is raised properly, he could perhaps act as Yami's successor."

Rill: "So cool! I didn't know someone of that age could fight like that. I should become his friend at the end of the meeting. I feel something will go wrong if I say something now."

Jack openly said, "Looks like the brat from your squad has some ability, Yami."

Julian learned that after they entered the dungeon, the gate had closed. Reinforcements tried to open the gate but failed.

At midnight, the gate opened, and Finral exited with three fainted people and a pyramid of gold with jewelry embedded in every step.

Inside the pyramid were some special stones that could act as a source of energy by absorbing mana from the surroundings.

Julius continued, "Now for the distribution of the reward. Fifty percent of it will be used for the kingdom, twenty percent will go to the Black Bulls for their contribution, eight percent to the Golden Dawn, fourteen percent to the families of the deceased, and lastly, eight percent to the Purple Orca. I hope no one has any problem with it."

William said, "They saved the lives of my men, after all. Black Bulls deserve that."

Gueldre from the Purple Orca protested, "Wait, how come we get so little? My men died. We should get more compensation."

Nozel interjected, "Do not step beyond your boundary. Compensation has been given to their families. Don't forget they died due to their own negligence."

Yami thought to himself, "Oh? The silver head stood up for us. Is he planning something?"

The meeting ended, and everyone went to their duties.

As expected, the Wizard King stopped Julian after everyone left. He asked to see Julian's grimoire.

"So this is a four-leaf grimoire. SO NICE! I heard that your fire magic is very versatile. What else can you do? Tell me, tell me!" Julius said, stars in his eyes. His nerd mode had activated.

"Here he goes again," Yami said while Finral didn't know what to say.

Marx interrupted, "Julius-sama, stop wasting time. You have a mountain of paperwork to do."

"Sigh, you don't even let me take a break. I have to return to my duties. I am expecting great things from you, Julian. See you later, Yami."

No matter how good Julius appeared, Julian was always suspicious of him. This man always seemed to have a plan as if he could see the future.

As Julian exited the place with Yami, Rill ambushed him and filled him with questions like the Wizard King. Rill wanted to be his friend, and Julian agreed. Knowing another captain wasn't bad.

After receiving the reward, Yami bought bottles of alcohol, and Julian brought some food from a local restaurant. The rest of the money was kept as emergency funds, which Julian was pretty sure would be spent either on gambling or alcohol.

Finral teleported them back to the base after their shopping spree.

The rest of the night was spent celebrating. Due to the terrible headache he received after drinking alcohol, Julian decided to drink less in the future.

 Golden Dawn Base

A group of girls were watching the recording of the fights in the dungeon. First was the fight against magical beasts, and then the fight against Zinogre.

"Kyaa! That's so cool! As expected from someone who received the four-leaf grimoire," one girl exclaimed.

"Did you see the red flames? They looked dangerous," another girl added.

"Letoile, why are you watching as if your eyes will bulge out? Did you develop a crush on him or something?" a third girl teased.

"Wha-what are you talking about? It's nothing like that," Letoile said with embarrassment.

"Don't worry, as your friend, I would support you," the first girl said.

"Stop saying such things! I got a wake-up call from this incident, so I am watching to see if I can learn something from this fight," Letoile responded.

"Heh, our girl grew up," the third girl remarked.

Everything returned to normal.

The rest of the month was spent patrolling the streets of the common realm, solving small issues like catching thieves, helping with repairs, resolving disputes, and stopping harassment of girls at night.

Julian was glad they didn't get escort missions for nobles because of their bad reputation, which was improving after his arrival.

At the end of the month, Julian received an income of 10,000 yuls according to his rank. That's why Yami resorted to the hunters' guild, as the pay was more. Julian heard the royal squad got more monthly income because of their vast treasury.

It was sufficient for Julian, as he didn't spend much except on different food and new clothes, which often got destroyed while training. He had a private supply of clothes from Vanessa, so a lot was saved.

Julian decided to send 2,000 yuls each to both churches every month. His pay should increase with his rank, so he wasn't worried about it.
