Chapter-13

Denzai took a look at the monsters, one of which had abnormally long arms while the other two resembled humans, just more ugly due to their sharp claws, grey skin, and bloody mouths with razor-sharp teeth.

They let out low growls as the monsters with grey skin rushed toward them. As they split off and engaged the monsters, Denzai and Dewa don't need to say anything.

In an attempt to leapfrog onto Denzai, the monster screamed and ran toward him with its forward-facing claws separated. With a powerful kick, he greeted the leaping monster's head. As he followed up with a fetal punch, he heard what sounded like a projectile that had come from behind and had broken through the wind with greater speed.

Denzai rolled to the right side after giving up the chance to defeat the monster. Denzai looked up as the object flew over their heads.

The monster receives a head kick, stands up shakily, and moves its head in search of the prey that it has lost. It discovered Denzai, who was continuously dodging the projectile objects, and it sped up and approach Denzai. Even quicker than before.

Fwoosh. !

It advanced its claws and lunged at Denzai in a split second. With both melee and ranged attacks, Denzai struggled to contend. He must dispatch the melee opponent quickly to avoid becoming the ground-feeding monsters' meal.

By taking a quick step to the right and side, he avoided the claws of the monster and then quickly elbowed its head. He was astounded by the monster's fortitude as it attempted to counterattack after taking his elbow strike. He was aware of the power his punches and kicks could produce; a typical concrete block couldn't withstand his usual attack.

He only narrowly avoided the monster's counterattack because a portion of his attention was on the projectile objects that were occasionally thrown at him.

The monster continues to attack, though, as its right claws move in the direction of his neck. He used his left hand to block the claw's arm and his right to deliver an uppercut to the monster's lower jaw. A projectile was heading for the back of his head before he could finish the fight.

He quickly knelt down and narrowly avoided the projectile at the last second. The upper half of the melee monster's head was severed by the projectile because it was not in a position to avoid it.

Denzai quickly sought refuge near the wrecked truck and assessed the situation with Diwa. In that instant, Diwa had already used his blade to behead the monster and was hiding next to a car.

The monster in the distance growled at them before running off toward a backstreet. Looking at the monster that is escaping quickly, they are both rendered speechless. This monster appears to possess some intelligence. They both hurriedly departed to the west after making sure no additional monsters were nearby.

General Daka sighed deeply as he gazed at the capital's west district, which was in ruins. Buildings in the area were covered in smoke and fire, giving the impression that a major civil war was in progress.

The agonizing wails of civilians who had lost their families, friends, and loved ones weighed heavily on his heart even though they had barely taken control of the west district. The general in charge of the country's defense, what a joke, made him feel inadequate.

He can't help but regret his naivete after learning that even the heavily guarded capital city had fallen to this level. Inside his head, the voice of Kai's advice echoed like the voice of the devil. He thought back to a few days ago and wondered if he could convince those self-centered old asses to support Kai's proposal, but there was no if.

When the capital was destroyed by the monsters, the self-centered old asshole left with their groups toward war bunkers and they don't even answer his calls. He thinks that if the city were really in danger, everyone would stand up and defend their motherland and civilians.

Only a few neighborhood police officers and TCF were left to excuse the civilians. But they were a total failure.

He is startled out of his agony by the dismal voice that echoes in his ears, "General.".

He asked, looking at the TCF sergeant, "How's the situation?".

"The west side is currently under control, and according to the data, 70% of the TCF died while on duty." With a dejected expression, the sergeant answered.

Six thousand TCF members were assigned to guard the safety of the capital under general command out of a total of ten thousand, but during the rescue operation for civilians, about 70% of the brothers were killed.

General Daka asks in shock, "How much!!!?".

"Although it may seem unbelievable, the damage is internal; during the battle, about one-third of our brothers transformed into monsters. Also, a few of the civilians we rescued also developed into monsters. From within, our battle formations disintegrate." The more the sergeant spoke, the more his voice began to tremble. His inability to handle this, despite having served in wars, was only prevented from collapsing by his soldier-like conviction.

Bang. !

With more knowledge of the losses, General Daka punched down toward the nearby vehicle. He wanted to skin those cretins alive. How many lives were lost as a result of their self-centeredness? He hoped that the idiots in the bunkers wouldn't share their fate with the monsters who were now literally in control of the capital.

"How many civilians were rescued from danger?"

"Approximately 2,000 civilians, General."

"Okay, get ready to leave; we're getting out of this hellhole. "

Let's hope that the connections between the SW will remain intact.

Te, dot. te, te.

Kai's voice came from the SW and said, "Hello, general."

We need transportation for nearly 4,000 people from the capital to Bram. General Daka asked directly, thinking that Kai was already aware of the situation in the capital. "Do you have any mean?"

"I'm not sure of the specifics, but we have an industrial area three miles from the capital from which some of our employees will travel to Bram this evening. The circumstances and situation, however, may cause the time to change." Kai replied after giving it some thought.

"Which one?"Bernett Group has four industrial zones near the capital.

"Can you guys get to the third zone, on the north side of the capital, before dusk?"Kai asked.

General Daka paused for a moment before continuing, "With these civilians, it will take at least twice as long to reach the third zone as it would with just the TCF."

If they don't want to encounter the monsters, they can outflank from the west exit, but it will take more time and cover a greater distance. They must travel across five city blocks to get to the capital's north exit.

"Please send some reinforcements to the capital's northern exit; your combatants need only provide cover for us as we leave the city from that direction. There are civilians here who need to be protected. "

Kai couldn't help sighing after hearing General Daka's request. He has a lot of respect for this elderly man because a mindset like General Daka's is extremely uncommon in today's society. He doesn't believe that he was a good or bad person. His decisions are always motivated by interest and results.

"Okay, let's talk again later. I must speak with people from the industrial zone. I hope they weren't in the same shit as you guys."

After a moment he decided to assist the old man.

"Thank you, I think your father would have made fun of me for my miserable state if he were still alive."

Following Kai's confirmation, General Daka sighed. It's time to leave; even if Kai's combat units can't protect them, they must still go.

"I hope to see you tomorrow. Alright, bye. "

"Yes, please prepare a drink from my selection, and please, old man, arrive here unharmed. You must command my soldiers. "

General Daka, his TCF, and 2,000 citizens left for the north exit shortly after.

It appears that the capital has completely fallen. Ray, who was seated next to Kai, remarked.

"Seems so." Kai threw his head back. If at all possible, he also wished to stay out of circumstances like this. But only ten days have passed since the initial discovery of SGV. They were completely caught off guard, and what was most upsetting was that, given enough time, they could have avoided this catastrophe.

In that regard, he felt fairly confident.

"It's only the first wave; the monsters weren't fully developed. Our guns and tanks won't be useful if the monsters continue to evolve. "Ray reminds him with a rare expression of seriousness.
