JESSY BECAME ALERT

Back at the apartment, Jessy was still baffled by this new information, but I was curious as to whether Brent was the person who kissed me.

Jessy was so lost in thought, but her concern at that moment was to ensure that all her documents were secured.

Emptying the bag hurriedly, she observed under her few pieces of clothes and the documents, were a few gifts, wrapped in gift paper, "What are these?"

Slowly she took out the gifts that were neatly wrapped and placed at the bottom of her bag.

Curiosity got the better of her so she read the names of each gift. placing it aside carefully when she picked up the last box that was unwrapped. Opening it, she saw a pile of cash and a letter that was addressed to her.

Jessy read. "My dearest Jessy, I will never forget you, although I know the hurt you must endure because of my decision. I am really, very sorry for hurting you, but I had no choice at that time. Jessy when Johanna proposed to me, all I saw in front of me was my Mom dreams coming true, and the things my sisters needed. Please forgive me but I need you to send these few things home for them, I hope they arrive on time," Love Mark.

Jessy got a box and paper it, then she placed all the gifts into it neatly, She labelled the mailing address on top.

She checked the time and saw very little time left before the postal office closed.

Leaving the apartment she headed out through the back. Jessy haled out the first car that came knowing she was getting late.

Happy it was a taxi, she sat quickly, "Driven, take me to the Postal Service, please."

"Yes! Ma'am!" From the review mirror, Craig noticed how anxious she looked.

When she said, "Driver, please hurry, I am getting late."

Her words caught his attention and he focused once more on his driving. Suddenly, he stepped on the brakes causing Jessy to jerk her neck. "Driver, what is the matter? Would you be careful?"

Being aware of her anxiousness to get to her destination, Craig felt a bit nervous thinking she might become angry, "Ma'am there is an accident in front of us, it seems we are stuck in the middle."

Jessy felt more anxious as she viewed the time, "Driver, how far again before the Postal Service?"

"It is just a block away, Ma'am, if you hurry, you might reach it before it closes." Jessy grabbed the box and thanked him then hurried out of the car, she began running when she heard the driver calling out, "Ma'am you didn't pay your fare."

Stopping suddenly she shouted, "Meet me at the Postal Service." With that said, she began running again.

It was five minutes to four when she noticed the open sign still up. With a smile on her face, she bolted through the door. She observed there were two people in a line, so she stepped in behind them and waited as she sighed in relief.

At that moment the security locked the door, putting up the close sign. Jessy breathed a breath of relief, thanking God she made it just in time. She waited her turn patiently.

When the Clerk asked her what she requested, she informed her of what she needed placing the gift-wrapped box on the counter. When the box was registered and sent off, Jessy left.

Hoping to see the driver waiting at the front of the Postal Service, Jessy held the taxi fare in her hand as she hurried out. It was not long before she glimpsed him immediately waiting across the street.

Jessy had only taken two steps into the road when a white Seedan came flying through like a bolt of lightning straight towards her.

Hearing the shout Jessy became alert and quickly noticed the danger just in time. Observing the angle the car was coming and the speed her only option was to press forward. With fast reflex she skipped across the street as though her feet had wings, only to see the car pass by without even stopping.

Jessy glanced at the licensing plate number as she stepped on the pavement. feeling her heart beating fast she lowered her body taking in a few deep breaths. Craig hurried out of the car and rushed to her side seeing her still bending, wanting to know if she was hurt.
