THE PLOT THAT AWAITS

Brent was restless, walking to and fro from his bed to the window with his phone in his hand. He attempted to dial the apartment number several times but decided against it.

When he finally made up his mind and pressed call when a knock on his door, "Thump, thump." Switching off immediately, then went and opened the door.

Seeing his mom standing there with a frown plastered, " Mom what is it, you look worried."

"Junior, your dad now related what happened to Rosanna, he also told me he called you, so can you tell me why you didn't go to the hospital to check on her?"

"Stop one minute mom, whose friend is she? And why is it that I should visit her, If truth be told I can hardly stand her presence."

Florence looked at his face, only to see his forehead with creases and the veins seemed to be bulging out. She was left speechless, 'Is it so disgusting hearing her name, how can I be so wrong when choosing his life partner for him? I knew if this continued my plan would be ruined. "Junior, try to understand, I am just worried, so can you take me to visit her?"

"Mom, I am tired I will instruct the new couple in the outhouse from the back to take you."

Angry for his disobedience and stubbornness, "If you are tired then rest and I will visit tomorrow."

Florence was exhausted and exasperated knowing once more her plan failed. 'If I continue nagging him he will leave again because of my insistence. She left quietly having to pursue another plan to accomplish her goal.

On the other hand, Jessy entered the apartment bedroom only to realise Brent was there, "But why didn't he wait for me?"

Feeling tired of the many extra runs, she took a long warm bath. Seeing that the time was going quickly she pulled on a pink cotton pyjama and headed back in the kitchen. Carl had bought so many items and many needed refrigeration.

She quickly stored away all the dry grocery items In the pantry and then had a light dinner.

Back in her room, she noticed the letter Mark had written to her was on the floor. Thinking it was blown down, she took it up, folded it, and placed it on the small work table next to the bed.

About to sit on the bed she recalled the brown envelope she had collected at the office earlier. Curious to see what was inside, she hurried out, picked it up from the dining table and returned to her bedroom.

She sat on her bed and opened the envelope, reading through the instructions, seeing she only had two days to complete the design and send it in.

Observing if she was successful with the design she would earn fifty thousand. Jessy quickly began to sketch out the building according to the specifications and instructions.

With her head bent, concentrating on the drawing, she wasn't unaware of the plot that awaited her.

Outside the apartment, two young men seated across the street sat and waited patiently as they played cards. Johnny who was bored to death decided to join them to pass the time

When was eleven-o-clock the street was quiet down a bit, the young men ask excuses and crossed the street.

Johnny observed the way they kept turning and watching the apartment. Sending a message to Brent he then calls two of his men.

As time passed Johnny checked his phone, taking his eyes away from the men. He realised that Brent hadn't opened the message. He knew it was already so late but still made the call to him.

With his eyes still closed, Brent reached and took up his phone. "Boss, I just letting you know that two young men are scooping out the apartment."

Hearing those words Brent became fully awake. "Keep your eyes on them I will be there within thirty minutes."

"Boss, there is no need to worry, I already called people to assist me and also inform the police."

Unable to control his trend of thought, all that was on his mind was her being hurt.

Johnny returned his attention only to realise that the young men had left.

Hurrying out the fire escape outside his room he rushed out to the garage to get into his car when another call came.

Brent quickly answered. "Boss, the men have left, there is no need to worry."
