Lavernius set up a small camp on the beach and slept peacefully until morning. He pulled out his map and found where Mount Klytio was. He opened a portal and walked through. He was standing on the peak of the mountain in front of a cave entrance. The snow fell thick and heavy. Noises coming from the cave made Lavernius uneasy. He entered and took a look inside.
He wandered into the cave. He soon found himself face to face with a sleeping dragon. Its scales looked to be made out of ores and stones. Its talons and teeth were made out of obsidian. The dragon was massive and had wings that stretched almost fifty feet wide. It slept there motionless. It was at least thirty times bigger than Derrald's dragon. Lavernius accidentally kicked a rock. The dragon's eyes slowly opened. They were gold. The dragon's eyes were as big as Lavernius's face. It lifted its head and began to speak, but it didn't move its mouth. Its voice was directly in Lavernius' mind.
"Who are you?" the dragon asked
"I am Lavernius Bear. Are you Hulion?" Lavernius asked out loud.
"Yes. I am Hulion, god of the mountains." Hulion said
"I have come to slay you." Lavernius said
"I see..." Hulion said
The monster opened its mouth and a giant blaze of fire shot out. The fire was so incredibly hot that it melted part of the mountain. Lavernius stood, unscathed. Hulion got up and spread its wings, breaching the walls of the cave. The beast jumped and destroyed the peak of the mountain and began to fly. The pressure of the flap of the wings sent the rubble of the mountain flying off. Lavernius stood unmoved. Hulion roared and shook the sky. The earth rumbled beneath Lavernius' feet. The sky darkened. The dragon's body glowed a bright red. The dragon dove down and scorched the ground where the cave once stood. The heat increased exponentially. Lavernius ran to cover under rocks. Hulion landed and Lavernius charged the mighty beast. Hulion used his tail to keep Lavernius at a distance. Lavernius used plasma Energy and shot a beam of it at Hulion. The beam of raw Energy bounced off of the dragon's face. Hulion's voice echoed throughout Lavernius' mind.
"Look how strong you are! I have never seen a human produce such a powerful blast of Energy before." Hulion said
"I have never seen it reflect off of my opponent before." Lavernius said
"I have resistance to Energy. That is my gift." Hulion said
"I will push your 'resistance' to the brink." Lavernius said
Lavernius' body pulsated strong waves of plasma Energy. As time went on, the waves got stronger and faster in frequency. Lavernius tried slashing Hulion as well as continuing to spill out Energy. Hulion used his wings and tail to keep him back. Lavernius increased the output of Energy more and more.
"Soon you will run out of stamina." Hulion said
"That's my line." Lavernius said
Lavernius shot a continuous beam of plasma Energy. Hulion shielded his head with his wing. While Hulion was blinded by his own wing, Lavernius used Excalibur and cut off a major part of his tail. Hulion roared in pain and anger. Hulion's body got brighter and hotter to the touch. The plasma beam fell short and didn't even scratch Hulion.
"You will pay for that!" Hulion said
Hulion flapped his wings and burned the top of the mountain, turning the rocks into molten lava. Lavernius quickly descended down the mountain to avoid being burned alive. Hulion flew above him. Lavernius fled into an open field. The dragon burned a ring of fire around him and landed in front of him. The tail was not regenerating, and Lavernius noticed that there was no blood when he cut it off. Lavernius hasn't even broken a sweat yet.
He charged the mad beast and mightily swung Excalibur. It hit the side of Hulion's neck. A crack formed and Hulion roared in pain. Lavernius put all his strength into the next swing. He hit the same spot as before. Lavernius was able to slice deep in Hulion's throat. Hulion's eyes rolled back and he let go of consciousness. Lavernius slashed again and sliced his head clean off. Hulion fell to the ground and was followed by a loud thud. His body lay motionless. Lavernius stood over Hulion and looked upon his body. Lavernius turned to look at the mountains. They all began to crumble to the ground. A giant dirt and dust cloud hung over the debris.
Lavernius walked around the dead body. He opened his map and saw that he was close to Valtor, god of the stars. He walked over to the hills over the plain and saw a small wooden house. Next to the house was an observatory. As he got closer the stars got brighter. The wind was cold and the tall grass swayed in the wind. There were two windows on either side of the door. The door creaked when Lavernius stepped towards it. When he opened it, the room had a large telescope on one wall. On another wall was a bookcase filled with astronomy books. There were three chairs and a desk made from wood. At the far end of the room was a large window. It faced the eastern horizon. He left the house and entered the observatory. There was a tall staircase that led to the giant telescope on the roof. This is where he found Valtor. Valtor was a tall and skinny man. He wasn't old, but he wasn't young. Beside his gold eyes, he looked completely human.
"Ah, a visitor." Valtor said
"You must be Valtor. I am Lavernius Bear." Lavernius said
"Yes, that was quite a ruckus outside." Valtor said
"Hulion has died. I killed him. I am here to kill you." Lavernius said
"Kill me? I'd like to see you try." Valtor said
The area around Valtor changed and morphed. Cracks in his body started glowing white.
"Cosmic..." Lavernius said
"This is bad." Owen said
The sky and stars morphed. The air became heavy and cold. Valtor floated above the ground. Lavernius stood on a floating piece of stone from the observatory. Lavernius tried to attack Valtor, but he kept changing the environment. Lavernius couldn't reach him.
"It's Cosmic Energy, but in a weak state. If you keep making him use it, he will run out of stamina." Owen said
Lavernius jumped on the floating rocks to get closer. Valtor's body's white light dimmed every time he used the power. The speed of the rocks slowed and Lavernius was able to get right next to him. As Lavernius was swinging Excalibur, Valtor vanished before his eyes. The area was put back to normal. Lavernius turned around and saw Valtor coughing on the ground. He walked over to him. Lavernius quickly cut off his head and burned his body. He walked outside and saw most of the stars go dark and others dim.
