After a month Mary Flame closed the shop and held a ceremony for Phoenix and Ash. She then moved in with her daughter, Cinder, in the Kingdom of Dusk. When Jack Shard did not return, Jerry Malikai ran the kingdom until Evelyn Shard was eighteen and capable of becoming queen. When she became queen a large portion of her subjects revolted peacefully and moved South. The revolt was led by the son of Jerry Malikai, Arthur. They called themselves the Free People of Eberia and vowed to build their country. The rebellion journeyed South and rebuilt Light from the ground up. Eberia became very prosperous and traded with kingdoms and villages alike. Evelyn married and had a son named Ariax Shard, her husband passed away in battle later on.
Dython Fiklor expanded North, all the way to the mountains. His empire was the biggest nation to ever exist. Lark Tourno commanded a large portion of the army in the North. Commander Calitio Alvero was in charge of the South. Johannes Fiklor, son of Dython, became general when he was seventeen. Commander Lark split off from Dython and many of his soldiers followed him. Lark and Calitio fought many times, eventually Calitio pushed Lark away and he fled across the sea, westward, with all of the traitors. No one knows what is west of Medivia, and no one knows what happened to them. The Empire of Dython quickly recovered from the loss. Johannes was a mighty warrior and a brilliant war-lord, who led his army into many victories during the civil war and many more battles to come.
Eberia struggled in expansion, but their king, Arthur Malikai, still had ambition. Their people wanted freedom and peace. Many wars happened between the Free People and the scavengers of the Dunes. Arthur, himself, led many expeditions into the desert and further South. The scavengers came in waves and seemed to have been led by someone or something with strategic intelligence. Massive stone walls were erected to defend from the East. Eberia and the rest of the kingdoms were separated by the Great Shark Sea. To the North was grassland, which they inhabited. To the East were the Dunes, and also to the South.
A few years later, Dusk and Dython's borders met. Debates on who gets the territory that used to be Crow and Raven Tower took place over months until a small war broke out. It was soon ended by a peace treaty Queen Evelyn made. It stated neither of them should inherit the ruined city. Instead it was taken by humanoid monsters and became the first monster nation named Midhanhal. Midhanhal's king was known as King Gragas Fewlos. He ruled well and treated his people fairly. The kingdoms had good relations with each other.
When the gods stopped answering the prayers, Kenneth Phosphor retired. The Church of Fate slowly died out, and no one practiced it. Kenneth lived a simple life as a farmer. He died surrounded by friends and family. His last words were, "I don't regret anything, Lavernius. If I could do it over, I wouldn't change a thing." The new faith of Medivia was a mix of many things. Though none were true.
Finally, after a decade, the world settled down. Peaceful trade continued and the people prospered. Wars and battles occasionally broke out. The biggest war was over Medivet City, which is the largest city in the world and is in Eberia. Dusk wanted the resources and the land, but Eberia was able to hold their ground. They won the war but the losses out-weighted the gains.
When the dust settled and the people were happy, nations grew together. Kings and queens ate at the same table. Festivals were held yearly. Trade and relations grew. All was well in Medivia.
This is not the end of this story, of their story. This was only the beginning. The world is a strange place and nothing is certain. Nothing is surer than change. There is only one thing in life that remains constant: death.
