Inevitable Fate: Part 2

He slowly lowered himself onto the floor. He landed so delicately. Phoenix tried to fight, but Lavernius waved his hand and cut Phoenix in two. Ash ran over to the body, crying. Ash stood up and struck his own heart with his sword and fell limb to the ground. David's breathing and heartbeat quickened. Lavernius stepped closer to him. David had no choice, but to keep fighting. "I will rejoin you soon," he whispered. He charged towards Lavernius, but Lavernius was faster than ever.

Lavernius caught David by surprise. He swung his arm and chopped his head clean off. The head rolled along the marble floor. David's body fell chest first. Blood spilled all over the glass and crystal floor. Lavernius walked over to the balcony. He placed his hand on the crystal railing. Then the air got thicker and heavier. The floating island shook greatly. He turned around and saw David's body getting up and David's head turned to ash. Blood stopped spilling out and then his head regenerated. Lavernius looked into his eyes and was astonished to see that they were, in fact, gilded with gold. And filled with wrath.

"Amazing... truly amazing," Lavernius said, "Apotheosis."

"This is the end of you, Lavernius Bear." David said

David walked towards Lavernius. The palace trembled with each step. The glass and crystal flooring cracked. David picked up his sword and with great power struck Lavernius. He swiftly dodged the attack. Lavernius quickly picked up Excalibur and slashed at David with his sword and cut deep in his chest. The wound slowly healed. David swung at Lavernius and aimed for the orb around his neck. A fearful look fell upon Lavernius as he clutched the orb with his hand and pushed David with gravity Energy. He sent David flying and he flew through many walls of the glass palace. David hit a pillar and broke it apart. He flew across the hallways and crashed into a wall. He sluggishly got up, but was out of stamina, healing his head and other injuries was too much for him. Lavernius quickly ran over to him and cut off his head again and used Cosmic Energy to destroy the rest of his body. Nothing was left of him, only a pile of ashes. He looked around and saw the carnage. He waved his hand and the bodies, blood, and weapons all vanished. He repaired the glass palace in a blink of an eye. All traces of the battle were gone.

He sat down on the floor and laughed. His heart rate slowed and he stood back up. He looked at Excalibur in his hand and smiled.

This was the end of an era, the ages of gods. A new era began. A more dangerous one. One where the future was unclear. Where there was no protection for anyone. In the midst of the chaos, someone, or something, was born. The end of one thing is always the beginning of another. This time was different, though, this time things would never be the same. The universe was changing and evolving. The Cosmos was awakening and becoming something greater.
