Sarada releases the Chidori as she speaks.
"I will need you to use your Sharingan to copy the jutsu. Usually, you need to train your chakra control to be able to use it properly, but I think you and the 6-Tails can pull it off."
Namaru nods, and activates his Sharingan, again, and watches as Sarada weaves the same 6 hand seals: Monkey → Dragon → Rat → Bird → Ox → Snake → Dog → Tiger → Monkey, and her hand sparks up again, and the sparks fade a couple seconds later. Namaru quickly weaves the same 6 hand seals, and his hand sparks once, twice, then becomes fully coated in electricity before the sparks fade quicker than they had arrived. Namaru begins to grow visibly upset, and Sarada comforts him.
"It's okay. You're only 5. Your grandpa and myself didn't learn the technique until we were Genin. The fact that you can't control it is normal. I'd be scared if you COULD. Plus, from what I've been told, you have a water affinity, so casting a lightning jutsu will prove difficult. For right now, we'll focus on training your chakra control, and we can try Chidori again in a couple years. For right now, let's cover what you know, and go from there. Right now, you can focus your chakra through your entire body, into your eyes, and cast jutsu. Now, we need to focus on your feet. As soon as you learn to focus your chakra into your feet, you can do many things, like walk up mountain sides effortlessly, walk up trees, stand upside down from tree limbs, jump great distances, and even walk on water. As soon as you master this, we will move on."
Suddenly, Sasuke appears behind her.
"You're wrong."
Sarada doesn't even flinch as Sasuke speaks, since she is used to this from him by now. Instead she just responds with a bank stare.
"About what, dad?"
Sasuke walks around Sarada, behind Namaru, and faces her before responding.
"About him having a water affinity. The 6-Tails has a water affinity. Namaru can use Fire Style. His natural affinity is probably fire. There's no way someone with a natural water affinity can use a Fire Ball Jutsu as successively as him. Not only can he use the jutsu, but he can use it multiple times in a row without tiring out. That goes to show he has fully mastered the Fire Ball Jutsu to an extent, and can use it without draining too much of his chakra. Somewhere in there, he still has his natural chakra. Since he learned chakra control from the 6-Tails, he doesn't need to use much of his own. When he uses a Fire Style jutsu, the Tailed Beast's chakra recedes, and it allows Namaru's own chakra to shine through. The beast just gave him the ability to control it. Now, if he so desired, Namaru could tame the beast, and gain full control of his own natural chakra network. That's my view on the situation, anyway."
Just then, Namaru plops on the ground and begins meditating. Eventually, he establishes a connection with the 6-Tails. (The following conversation will be in single quotes since it takes place on the mental plane.) Once connected, Namaru sees a giant slug in front of him. In slight fear, he asks,
'Are you the 6-Tails?'
The beast looks down at Namaru with a response.
'Yes. You can call me Saiken. There's no need to be afraid. I won't hurt you.'
Relief floods Namaru's face as he continues trying to have a conversation with the beast.
'I suppose you're here to ask me to allow you to have free reign over your chakra?'
Namaru nods while responding.
'Yeah. I need to use my own chakra. I can't keep relying on you to help me. I have to do things on my own. I understand if you were trying to help me when I was a baby, but I'm more grown, now. I would much rather go from here alone, unless I need you.'
Saiken considers Namaru's request and begins slowly nodding as he begins to fade away. Namaru opens his eyes to Sarada shaking him. Suddenly, Namaru grows light-headed, and has to steady himself. Sasuke quickly uses his Sharingan to see what was wrong, and sees Namaru's naturally blue chakra filling his system, before speaking.
Back to the mortal plane.
"He reached it. He was able to contact the beast. Namaru's natural chakra is back. Now we can answer this question once and for all..."
Sasuke grabs another litmus paper and hands it to Namaru, who focuses his chakra into it. The paper begins to grow damp, but immediately bursts into flames and becomes incinerated into ash. It's clear Namaru's natural chakra is, indeed fire affinity. Sasuke is pleased, but hides it very well. He looks up to see Sarada, including Namaru, staring at him, probably expecting a comment in some way, shape, or form. Sasuke looks at them, alternating glances between the 2, then finally speaks.
"I guess that would explain how he grew so proficient with the Fire Ball Jutsu in such a short amount of time. If his natural chakra affinity is Fire Style, then teach him more Fire Style while we works on his chakra control enough to where he can use the Chidori. He already knows the technique, but it's clear he doesn't have the control, nor the affinity, to use it."
Just then, Sarada pipes in.
"Neither did we when we learned it. Like all Uchiha before us, we were born with a natural affinity for Fire Style. We both had to learn how to utilize nature transformation in order to use the Chidori, ourselves, and it seems Namaru is no different."
Sasuke jumps back in.
"Then while you teach Namaru, here, how to use the jutsu, I'm going to go track down Inaga, someone who's going to know what they're doing, and show him. I don't have the time, nor the patience for amateurs."
Sasuke, then, disappears, and Sarada turns to Namaru before speaking.
"Welp. Time to go back to training. In order to help you control your chakra more, we will need you to learn to walk up trees and walls. Once you can do that, we'll work our way to walking on water. After you've mastered both of these fundamentals, we'll try the Chidori again."
Namaru gives his mother a nod, and they continue.
"Now, follow my instructions exactly. You have to focus your chakra into the soles of your feet, and then, plant one of your feet on the vertical surface, then try to walk up it, one foot following the other, like so."
Namaru watches as Sarada focuses her chakra to her feet. Although she didn't need to, she did it for teaching purposes. Sarada, then, walks over to a tree, and places her right foot on the bast of the trunk, followed by her left foot, and she continues until she is about halfway up the tree. She stops, and turns around to look down at Namaru, who happens to already be halfway between her and the base of the tree, in awe of what he is doing. Sarada is somewhat scared, as to how Namaru is already halfway to her location on the tree effortlessly...that is until he falls, landing on his butt. Namaru begins to get upset, but quickly gets back up, and goes to try again, with emotional support from Sarada, and makes it about as far as he did the first time around, before falling again, this time catching himself. He tries endlessly for the next couple hours before finally making it to Sarada with no effort. He had made it a few times beforehand, but not very steadily. Once he's standing horizontally next to Sarada, she gives him an approving nod and a small grin before speaking.
"If you're satisfied, may we move on?"
Namaru just smiles widely at his mother as a way of saying yes.
Sarada just shakes her head and chuckles as she begins to speak.
"Well, in that case, we're moving on to walking on water."
Namaru gives her an excited look as they both jump down from the tall tree. Sarada lands perfectly on her feet, but Namaru has to perform a 3-point landing since he knew he would fail otherwise. Once he stands, they both make their way to the nearby lake. Namaru stops at the shore, but Sarada keeps walking, out onto the water, as Namaru watches in awe. Sarada turns around to face him.
"Next you'll be walking on water. Currently, the water is still, so this shouldn't be too hard for you."
Namaru focuses his chakra into his feet, and tries to step out onto the water, and succeeds, but only is able to go a few more feet before falling through the water's surface, soaking him and his clothes. He swims back to shore to try again...and again...and again. It goes on like this for a couple days, but he gets further and further each time he tries. Eventually, he's able to walk on the water with no issues...that is until Sarada decides to toy with him. Sarada chuckles and focuses her chakra into her hand before hitting the water, causing a disturbance, and Namaru to fall in. Namaru swims back up and stands on the water surface, completely soaked.
"What was that for?"
Sarada gives Namaru a stern look.
"You have to be able to fight your enemy on any surface. With you being able to use Water Style, it would be better if you could stand on any form of raging tide that way you have an infinite water source, which will make sure you can use justu that require a water source such as the Water Dragon Jutsu. It will make your future battles much easier to handle...and will make your life easier in the academy since it's something they teach. Now, let's continue."
Namaru interrupts.
"Can I ask you a question?"
Sarada looks puzzled, but agrees.
"Is there anyone going to the academy at the same time as me that I should watch out for?"
Sarada begins to look both shocked and confused.
"What brought that up, Namaru?"
Namaru does a light shrug.
"Well, since I'm going there, myself, im 3 years, I didn't know if there was anyone I needed to watch out for that you knew of since you know quite a few of the parents with other kids my age who will be attending the academy at the same time as me."
Sarada thinks to herself for a second before one specific name pops into her head.
"Actually, there is one person in particular. An old friend of mine, Boruto, and his wife have a son. His name is Daichi. Daichi Uzumaki. He's the grandson of Lord 7th, so he kind of gets a big head about it. He might try and push you around, but other than that, you shouldn't have anyone else to worry about. Now, can we continue with training? I want you to master Chidori as soon an possible. Sasuke learned the technique in two weeks since he had to also learn nature transformation, which is something you seem to know as you can use both Fire and Water styles. If you can learn it in a quicker time than him, that would really throw him off guard."
Namaru kinda shrugs.
"Not really. He already knows I'm an Uchiha prodigy, so why would me learning a technique that has been passed down from him through his descendant and to me surprise him? It's probably become a family technique that is to be passed down through the Uchiha family for years to come by this point."
Sarada shrugs.
"That may be what he wants but we aren't focused on that right now. We need to focus on you learning Chidori to the extent of being able to use it at least 4 times without exhausting, and doing it before Inaga does. Sasuke went to train him, but let's see if you can learn Chidori before your grandpa's personal prodigy."
Namaru nods, and they continue with the water training, which goes on for only another hour or so. Then, once Namaru masters standing on raging tides with no effort, they move back to the Chidori. Namaru weaves the hand seals once more, and the jutsu forms in his palm, this time staying. Namaru quickly uses it on a nearby log, piercing it and chopping it in half. Sarada encourages hm to try again, which he does, but is only able to get one more in before exhausting. Even when Sarada offers to go home for the night, Namaru insists on staying to train more. 2 days later, Namaru is using Chidori up to 5 times before exhausting. Together Namaru and Sarada beat their 2 week trial, but now Namaru wants to go even further, and decides to master it to the extent that he doesn't need hand seals, which takes the next year or so.
