55. King Reborn

This world was shitty before I arrived, so I guess they don't care if I'm the new King right? It's just a place in the North, no one will worry about it, I believe.

I know my little wildflower is coming this way. That thing she came up with really works, and from what I can see it comes fast. I think I need a suitable escort for the future queen of Kaedwen.

"Soldier, ask a messenger to go to Kaer Morhen, and call the witcher Vesimir. I need a job that can only be done by experienced people like him." I finish saying, and I see the soldier salute me, and run to dispatch the message.

I get up from the throne, and head towards a specific location in the castle, where my adviser is. I knock on the door. Even though I'm the King, I'm still polite.

"Who is it? I'm in the middle of an important test here, and it could be dangerous." the voice inside answers.

"Evans Foltest, and that is all the more reason for me to accompany you, my lady, it can be dangerous to be alone." I answer, and I hear a loud boom, coming from the room, and without waiting any longer, I break down the doors, to see my sorceress with half her face burned.

She was breathing hard, and he could see the pain in her eyes. I just sigh as this is the third time I've seen her in this state.

"Sabrina, this is the last time I do this. Once again, if you bury yourself in useless experiments and cause a commotion, I will send you back to Aretuza. Do I make myself clear?" I say, as I wave my hand, and the woman instantly heals.

"Sorry my king, I will no longer cause disturbances in your castle." she says, getting up. His messy black hair, brown eyes and square jaw, handsome and elegant. "With regard to Aretuza, my time in your kingdom has come to an end, and a new ball has been scheduled, where new counselors will be chosen.

I have been appointed as one of the new teachers in Aretuza, my king, and I hope my advice has been of some use to you." She says, giving me a long, careful bow.

I can only sigh with this headstrong woman. "I'm tired of asking you not to do this, it's a nuisance. Even soldiers salute, so just show respect instead of that pointless bravado of bowing." I shoot back, making the woman stare at me, holding back her laughter.

"Tissaia asked for your return? She probably wants to put her charge in her place. But she doesn't have a problem, just feel free to talk bad about me. We don't want her rival too comfortable around here right?" I tease her, making her laugh outright.

"I'll say the king is a pervert and…" I cut her off.

"No, anything but that. My wife is on her way, and I don't want to hear a lecture, especially over a lie. Tell her I'm a murderer, torturer, maniac, anything but perverted." I shiver, feeling a chill.

"Is the queen really that scary?" now it's her turn to tease me.

I approach her like a hawk, looking straight into her eyes. "She is the sweetest, most understanding, kind, loving woman that could ever exist. Do I make myself clear?"

"I will take those words to heart my king. You will never hear another thing about the queen from me." she replies, trying to remain as serious as possible.

"Great, now, prepare the way here from Kaer Morhen, Vesemir will come for the queen, and I don't want him to waste time on the road." I say, turning to leave. When I get to the door, I say. "Oh, you will accompany him." I wink at her, and am gone, before a wooden crate hits the wall.

"I don't have anything to do with that mustache anymore." I hear her scream coming from the living room.

"I don't mind, your going is purely for the queen's protection, not to reunite the former lovers." I shout back, and hear something else hit the wall, and the woman's scream.

Now more relaxed, I'm going to see how my soldiers are training.

POV VESEMIR

I really shouldn't have gotten drunk at that damn party. Evans Foltest is a good king, but a very mean one. It was just one night and he makes Sabrina and I travel half a continent together.

Luckily I brought Geralt with me, he needs some peace and quiet, and this job is that and more. Sleeping in comfortable beds, being well fed, being respected was a welcome change.

Since the attack of the ancient fanatic group, when many of the wizards were killed, and it's only because of the king's help that many are still alive. He had the fortress restored, as well as sending supplies in the winters.

In exchange for that, and additional pay, we are treated like knights in the North, the people respect us, and we keep the monsters at bay at all times. And we still have help from the Scoia'tael, a group of elves who have found a home in the forests near Ard Carraigh.

Finally, we arrived where the king told us to wait. By his words we would recognize the queen, for she was unlike any woman. We have a photo, but it may have changed somehow.

As we eat and drink, I see Geralt looking very intently at a person who has just entered. She has tied up, brown hair, a slightly lost look, but in fact, she is carrying a stick.

Her clothes are unconventional at best. A brown cape, hiding her body. She looks at the people around her, and notices us staring at her. Sabrina just motions for the girl to come closer.

A little reluctantly, and tightening her grip on her rod, she approaches.

"Hermione Granger, is that you?" Sabrina asks, causing the woman to widen her eyes and threateningly point her stick at Sabrina's throat.

"How do you know my name?" she had a murderous look on her face, and she wasn't shaking at all, very sure of what she was doing.

"Madame, please put down your stick, the King has asked us to wait here and take you to him." Geralt and his low voice try to calm the woman down.

"The name of your king." she sort of orders it, and Sabrina just smiles.

"King Evans Foltest, but he says you know him as Evans Black." Sabrina's voice had barely finished before tears welled up in the woman's eyes.

Very tactfully, we just helped the girl to sit down, while we gave her a mug of water. Geralt was focused on looking around, as her safety was paramount.

"The king says he'll explain everything to you when they meet. We'll see him soon, but he asked me to warn you. Don't try to pull away, or you might crack. I don't know what it means, but he looked worried. " Sabrina says, and the girl gives a tired smile.

"He said Apparate. But he knows I can only do that if I know the exact place where I have to go. His worrying is useless." she says, I really didn't understand anything.

"That's how he thought. You kept your, what's he called it? Contraption to say the least, and that's why it's wandering around. So he asked us to open portals and come here, waiting for you." Sabrina explains.

"Oh, he'll hear some good stuff when I see him." The queen, Hermione, threatens, and Sabrina has an even bigger smile.

"Then we shouldn't keep him waiting, let's go right now." she opens a portal, and on the other side, the throne and on it, the king. "Queen Hermione, you first." Sabrina nods, and beside me, I hear Geralt.

"I hate portals." when the four of us passed.
