"Your Majesty, we have word about that man that is in the cell." Joseph spoke out. He found Danzel walking the halls. Danzel turned around to see the fat man standing behind him. He looked around for a moment. "So where is her highness? I thought she may want to hear this information as well." Danzel smirked.
"She's trying to find a dress that will hide her neck."
"Why would she need to do that?" He asked not quite sure what the King was talking about. Danzel pointed to an area below his ear but towards the front of his neck.
"There is a mark she is embarrassed of anyone seeing." Joseph knew right away what he meant. He coughed to hide his reaction.
"Well, when she gets an appropriate outfit on, then I would like you and her highness to meet in the Throne room. I want to go over everything that we learned about the man.
"You can't tell me any of it right now?" Danzel questioned.
"I just thought that the young miss would like to hear about it as well. She was able to get that man Levi to talk about who he was. And she didn't even have to use any kind of torture methods."
"She may not, but I don't like that man at all. The faster we can get that man out of here, the better." Joseph was worried a bit. What did that man do to get the King on edge like that?
"Did the man do something? Do you expect some kind of unfortunate events that may happen while we keep this man here?" Joseph was becoming more troubled by the way the King was acting.
"Yes, there will be misfortune for the man if he doesn't leave." The worry faded from the priest, but now he was confused.
"I don't understand. What has you on the edge?" Danzel looked away from the man. Was it something he couldn't talk to me about? Joseph thought to himself. Danzel turned to look back at the man. His voice was barely over a whisper when he spoke.
"He wa….ng….. sa…."
"What? I have no idea what you just said."
"I said that man was hitting on Jaysa!" Danzel yelled out. His face turned into regret and he looked down at the floor.
"So…" Joseph started hesitantly. "…You're jealous of that man." Danzel looked up that the priest.
"What! Me? I would never be jealous of someone like that!" He spat. Joseph nodded his head. He knew that was the reason Danzel didn't like the man. He was afraid that Jaysa may be more interested in the Levi character and not the King himself. Joseph couldn't help but let out a small laugh.
"What the hell is so funny?" Danzel yelled his face red in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry your highness. But I never had seen you get bend out of shape like this. It's actually kind of nice. It shows that you really love Jaysa and you thought no one could come between you two. However, it seems you have a rival."
"He is not a rival. He is just a nuisance. She is my wife. She cannot run off with another man." Danzel would never permit her to even think about another man let alone go away with one. Joseph looked at the King. He knew that Jaysa would never try to leave the King, no matter how much the other party woos her.
"Sire, I wouldn't take this too seriously. She would never leave your side." Danzel glanced over to the man.
"Do you believe that?" His voice was spoken quietly. Joseph smiled.
"I know that for a fact." A small smile appeared on his face. He wants to truly believe that. The two men stood there for moment before a voice spoke the peaceful atmosphere.
"What are you guys just standing around like this?" Joseph turned around and Danzel turned his gaze to the woman staring behind the priest. It was Jaysa.
"This is actually perfect timing." The priest spoke, his hands were out towards the young Queen. "I have some information that I want to give to both of you about that man."
"You did say something about that earlier." Danzel spoke out. "So what did you learn?" He asked. The priest turned to the young man and could hear the Queen's footsteps as she walked closer to the others.
"We were able to verify that that man's name is Levi Crimson. So he really was on his way to another Kingdom to sell some merchant that he had. I have gotten news that there have been a lot of thieveries going on the outside of the Kingdoms. It has to do with no laws outside of the Kingdom territories that there have been bands of misfits that have banded together and started robbing many unwilling suspects. He was one of the many that was unsuspected people that lost all his items."
"So, that man is no spy." Danzel spoke out. Joseph nodded. Danzel let out a sigh. "Fine then, let the man go." Jaysa smiled.
"See people are not as bad as what you think." Jaysa told her husband.
"Don't even get me started on you. You disobeyed me and went to meet that man. I told you to stay away from him. What if something had happened? You even went into the man's cell. Where did you get the key?" Danzel went off without taking a chance for Jaysa to even try to answer any of his questions. Once her husband was done with his questions, she placed her hands on her hip and spoke back.
"I may have disobeyed you, but you would have tortured that innocent man that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's not his fault he was jumped by thieves. He was dehydrated to the point to where he couldn't think right. And he may have looked like an animal, but that was because he had to walk several weeks to get to us. Can you even think how hard it would be for someone to do that? Especially when you get close to this Kingdom, only thing that is outside our walls is nothing but desert. I'm surprised he is even alive. So before you start going off on me for trying to protect a man and feed him before he actually kneeled over, you need to think about what could've happened before throwing them into a cell." Danzel glared at Jaysa.
