Danzel dashed down the hallway until he got to the well-known doors. He reached for the door knob opening the door. He made his way inside. No one was there yet. He cursed to himself. Jaysa had been holding onto his shoulders and digger her nails into his flesh. Even though his clothes he could feel the sting. Running over to the bed. He laid Jaysa down. She was unwilling to let go. He didn't know if it was because she was scared, in pain, or both.
"Jaysa. I need to go find the midwife. We need to get you comfortable." Jaysa cried out in pain to his answer. He needed to find someone and quick. Before he could turn to look for the midwife. An older woman made her way over to Danzel.
"How is she?" The woman questioned.
"She just started to go into pain." Danzel replied.
"So, it hasn't been going on for a while."
"Yes."
"No!" Jaysa gasped out. "This had…been going ou….ah…for a while." Danzel looked down at his wife as she panted out between the pain.
"And you didn't tell me why?" Danzel yelled.
"Because. I had….Ah….god…..this pain…oa….before. It just wasn't….ahn…ou….this bad." Jaysa tried to yell back at her husband but was too much in pain that it sounded like she was crying instead.
"Sire." The older woman spoke. "You need to leave. Let us take care of everything else." Danzel protested against it, but was pushed out of the room and the door slammed on his face. He felt like this had happened before. He stared at the door for a few minutes before finally making his way over to the wall on the other side.
They want me to just sit here and wait? Danzel thought to himself. He wanted to be in there with Jaysa. She was in complete pain. Pain he never seen her in before.
"Your Majesty." Danzel looked over to the right and saw Joseph jogging over to the young man. "How is her highness."
"They kicked me out. She looked like she was in pain." Danzel moved his gaze to the floor.
"Giving birth is not something that would be an easy task. So only thing that we can do is allow the midwife and her assistance to take care of the young miss." Danzel didn't like hearing those words. He told her that he would make sure that she never felt pain again. Yet to have a child. She is in complete pain. Joseph could tell that Danzel was in the same agony as his wife. "Sire. This can take many hours before the child is born. Why don't we go somewhere until—"
"No!" Danzel yelled. "I will stay right here. I will sleep here if I need to. I want to be as close to Jaysa as I can be." Joseph took in a sigh. The young man was stubborn. He put his hands together.
"So then will I." Joseph replied. Danzel glanced over to the older man. He was happy that the man wanted to stay by his side. He really didn't want to be by himself. Not feeling like he did right now.
Seven hours had already passed. The women would exit the room several times. Danzel would ask what was going on. They would explain that she was still just going through contractions. The baby was not born yet. Danzel couldn't believe that she had yet to give birth. He could hear her from the other side of the room.
"Why is she still crying in pain."
"Sire." The woman started. "We can only give her certain types of medication that will not harm the baby. Any woman giving birth will still have pain. Only thing we can do is to keep her as comfortable as we can. At least until the child is born." Danzel not caring for the answer clicked his tongue. He wanted to be in there. He wanted to tell her that it was alright. Yet, these women would not allow him anywhere near his love. The woman walked away from Danzel and soon came back again later. She didn't speak to either of the men as she made her way into the room.
