Chapter 13

  We all looked at her as she walked away.

  “Please, don't mind, okay? She's usually moody,” Alex's mother consoled.

  “It's okay, ma'am,” I replied.

  “Dinner would be served in about an hour. So, let Alex show you around.”

  “Thank you,” I said and turned to face Alex. His face was so tensed up, as if he was in the enemy's territory.

  “We'll see later, Elena,” his sister said and left with her parents.

  “They seem nice,” I said to Alex.

  “Come with me,” he said and began to walk away. I followed him sheepishly until we reached a room. He opened the door and we entered. It was a bedroom.

  “Your room?” I asked but he didn't answer. I took that as a yes.

  I walked to the sofa and sat down. He went to the bed and sat, then brought out his phone. He looked at the screen for minutes and was smiling sheepishly. What was he looking at?
