Chapter 55

Freeing Lucas was easy, but moving him? That was difficult. My brother's eyes rolled to the back of his head, and try as we might we couldn't get any response out of him. His heart still beat but his body was cold and the stench of death tickled my nose. Were we going to lose him after all of this?

"Wake up already," Norman growled. He picked up Lucas's hand and without pause he took his pinky and wrenched it backwards, the snapping reverberating around the small cell.

Lucas woke with a scream and shook, his eyes wild. He jerked his hand out of Norman's grip and forcibly snapped his finger back in place as he took deep shuddering breaths. "Fucking asshole," he glared at me, lips pulled back in a snarl. Stupid asshole.

"It wasn't me, Lucas. But we do need you to be awake. You can feel it right?" I had no time for him to come to grips with his kidnapping. I needed to get to Erina.
