Chapter 32

“Well, people are collecting twigs for firewood,” he replied, looking at her.

“No, dad. Who fool would go to the forest in whole white?”

“Whatever you saw, it might be just a scarecrow, sweetheart.”

“I have never seen a white scarecrow.”

He hopelessly stayed quiet and let her contain her eyes looking everywhere. She was about to walk closer when a chopper passed through near them.

“We’re getting out of here, Eunice! Get inside the car! No more buts!”

“We are not going back here anymore. I don’t feel safe here. There is something going on here and we better not know it,” he said, trembling. He can feel his body shaking, and he doesn’t know how he managed to drive.

Eunice rest on her seat and heaved a sigh, trying to calm down herself. She can feel the chills all over her body.  If her father didn’t react impulsively, she might be still standing on that spot.
