Chapter sixteen

MOTHER

Thinking that I have now given up

They all sit and sight my world

With laughter all over their cheeks

All words of mockery upon my head

For this is what you left me mother

They say you went never to return

Yet Auntie says you are on the way

For lonely, I walk from home to school

Seeing many of my classmates

Walking hand in hand with their mothers

Only to leave me at your call

For remember it was your norm

One to answer all my questions

Only with a single call

Eating dinner at your hands

Yet these are now all memories

For who will feed me this time

You know Auntie is always home late

As patients are her priority oh, she says

Leaving me in a lonely life

Standing alone in the huge world.

You know, I have now learnt many in life

As I can even cook our food

Only to let Auntie have a simple rest

For she returns home haggered

How I wish you come see her out

For she has never gone out in life

Her out should be her workplace mother

But for you were endorsed in it

That I came to love the hotel aroma

One from uncle Bill's food servings

Which I now miss to death

At times Auntie tells me to eat out

For she tries her best out

To give me a life like the old one

Though it all ends in promises

For her patients stand my way

Majorly that heart attack guy

You know he follows Auntie that much

But she still sends him off

Saying she holds no such thoughts

Leaving me wondering what they are

But Auntie promised me out this week

Although I know it may still fail

I still love it here with her

Only that I miss your presence here.
