Chapter 12

Joshua looked back at his companion, who was nodding their heads. They will stay on the edge of the thirteenth floor while he gets into the upper floor. The guild already gives him a communication device to tell them in case something bad is happening.

While all mundane technology cannot get inside the tower, a hybrid technology can. Joshua is holding a magical phone that was created using all the items coming from the tower. It was a limited item and very expensive.

He already asks the guild master what if he breaks this phone when he fights, but after the guild master says that the phone is very durable and will not blame him if it breaks, Joshua decides to take the phone with him.

After taking another deep breath, Joshua stepped into the fourteenth floor of the tower. When he arrives on the fourteenth floor, he can see the relatively empty floor from their previous hunt. However, he decided to go all out from the beginning.

"Witness my greatness! Come! Come to me, my crown! The crown of the underworld! Your Prince calls on your power!"

After he activates his authority, Joshua quickly runs toward the stairs to the fifteenth floor. He is swinging sword left and right while running toward the stairs. Not only that, the sword above him continued to kill any slime that got closer to him.

Each sword kills one or maybe more slimes.

Joshua's hands and legs did not stop moving. They continue to move without any time to take a break. His leg continues to run toward the stairs, and his hands continue to swing the sword to kill the slime.

It did not take him long before he reached the stairs to the fifteenth floor of the tower. When he reached the stairs, he was greeted by a group of massive slime inside the corridor. With a wave of his hand, a massive ice cyclone gets up to the other floor killing all the slime on its way.

Joshua followed the cyclone from a safe distance and arrived on the fifteenth floor. He can see a massive amount of slime on this floor. There are so many of them that the floor is almost one hundred percent filled up by slime.

Joshua takes a deep breath before starting his chant when he sees this many slimes.

"Hear me, Lord of the Underworld, I offer my crowns to you and ask for your cold hand to let the world see the majesty of my true crown!"

Joshua can combine his power and unleash the full power of his authority without chanting, but if he does it with the chant, it will boost the power of his authority and increase the duration of the authority.

After combining his five crowns, Joshua's body starts to change. His eyes now change to purple, and his black hair turns dark blue. When he released a sigh from his mouth, a mist of cold appeared.

Joshua can feel it. He can feel all the slime on this floor. There are more than ten thousand of them. They are three times bigger than a normal slime on the other floor. A wave of cold energy came out of his body with a snap of his finger.

This cold energy travels through the floor and kills any slime on its path. In a matter of twenty seconds, all the slime on this floor is dead. After killing all the slime, Joshua deactivates his authority and lets his body change color.

"Urgh"

Even when he is only using the full power of his authority for a few seconds, he can feel the strain it causes his body. If he continues to use his power after the six minutes mark, his body slowly gets turned into an ice sculpture and dies from overusing his authority.

He took the phone from his pocket and saw that it was still functioning even with that intense cold. He called the guild master and waited for a few seconds.

"Joshua! What is it?! Are you okay?"

"Yes, sir. I just want to report that the fight is over, and all of the slimes have been terminated."

"Wait. Really?!"

"Yes. Also, can you bring a warm blanket and warm water, please? The side effect of my power is affecting my body."

"Will do! We will be there immediately! Hold in there!"

Before Joshua could say that he was not in danger, the Guild Master ended the call.

When Eka, the Guild Leader, arrives on the fifteenth floor of the tower, he is greeted with a sight of pure white. The entire floor is covered in thick snow. He knew about this sight. He heard about the report of someone creating a massive hail of snowstorm in the middle of the tower.

"Search for Joshua! Make sure he survives this!"

Eka orders his subordinate to search for Joshua. However, before they could get anywhere, they heard Joshua's voice not too far away from them.

"You guys don't need to search for me. I'm here."

Eka and the other look to their right and see Joshua walking toward them. Eka can see Joshua is so pale that he could be called a corpse. Without wasting any more time, the medic that Eka brought with him started to put a warm blanket around Joshua.

While he looks like he is dying, Joshua is not in immediate danger. He still has his passive ability of Cold Resistance. However, before he could say that, the medic had already taken him away from the tower and placed him in the emergency room.

He can only sigh and accept his fate.
