Chapter 17

Joshua gets out of his tent when he hears the sounds of many people talking with a loud voice. As he gets out of his tent, he can see Laudia and Rachel also get out of their tent, looking at the boss gate with a frown on their face.

Joshua looks up and sees that the challenger count reaches zero, and the gate opens slightly. That means only one thing: the people who try to fight the boss are dead. This has already been the fifth party that tried their luck and failed.

"This should be the fifth party, right?"

Laudia nods her head and says.

"Yes. There must be something wrong with this boss room. We should tell the guild master. I think the boss is a mutation."

Mutation. That is a rare phenomenon where the monster gains a power-up. This power-up usually strengthens the boss up to fifteen times the original power. This will cause a problem and can cause massive destruction.

A mutation monster can get out of the tower, and when that happens, many civilians will be dead.

"How is it?"

Rachel looks at Laudia, who finished talking with the Guild Master, nods her head, and says.

"We are green. We will get inside before the other gets inside. Unless the people that get inside are from another party of B-rank, we will be the ones to get inside."

"Roger"

Rachel and Joshua nod their heads and walk toward the boss room. However, before they could get inside, a group of Blessed One decided to stop them.

"What do you think you are doing?"

Laudia looks at the man in front of her and says.

"We are the Wild Hunt, and we will be the ones to get inside the boss room. We have the word of the guild master of Indonesia Hunting Guild."

"Yeah, right. Fuck off. Our party will be the one getting inside the room. You can fuck off and wait for our victory."

"There are already five parties who try their luck and fail. Do you want to die here?!"

"We are nothing like those fucker. We are the Gondor Gulgul! We will be the ones to conquer this sucker! Come on, you cunt! We will get inside."

"Wait!"

Before she could stop them, the Gondor Gulgul party walked inside the boss room, and five seconds later, the boss room closed.

"Fuck! I hate an arrogant bastard like him!"

Laudia looks at the gate and sees that there are twenty-two people inside.

"What should we do now, Laudia?"

Laudia looks at Joshua before releasing a tired sigh.

"We do nothing but wait for them to get out victorious, or the gate opens up when they die."

Laudia sat down on the ground while her hand covered her face. Joshua can see how tired she is right now. Rachel sat next to her and patted her back while whispering something to her ears.

"I don't want to be that guy, but can I ask the reason why you look so tired?"

Joshua sat to the right side of Laudia while saying that. Laudia looks at him before sighing and saying.

"Do you know the reason why the Wild Hunt has two members before you join us?"

"No."

"The Wild Hunt originally had five members, and I'm not the leader of the party. There was a man called Andreas, and he was the leader of our party. He was a gentle soul but could be strict when the time demanded it. One day, our party decided to accept a newbie, a D-rank blessed one. He is a bastard."

Joshua can hear the venom from Laudia's voice when she mentions this man.

"One day, we decided to join a conquering team at a D-rank tower in Surabaya. When we arrived there, we got the news that the boss had mutated."

"Just like here."

"Yes. Just like here and just like here, our new party member decides to take the tower himself like the moron he was. Just because he got placed in D-rank on the first day, he thought that he could take on a D-rank dungeon and decide to get inside the dungeon even when a B-rank party warned him about it. With no other choice, Andreas decided to follow him inside the boss room because he did not want to leave his party member to die alone even when that said party member is a horrible person."

"You guys get defeated, huh?"

Laudia releases a humorless chuckle and shakes her head.

"No. It was not just a defeat. It was a complete failure. The boss is a Troll, a humanoid creature with one horn and has a height of twenty meters tall. It can take most damage like it was nothing and deal damage like a dragon. Because of the mutation, the Troll gets armor in the form of a force field and skill that lets it reflect all the damage taken to it."

"All of them?"

"Yes. One hundred percent damage will be reflected on us every time we hit them."

"Then how do you guys beat it?.... No…"

Laudia gives him a sad smile.

"Yes. It was just the three of us: Andreas, Rachel and Me. The rest of our party members are dead, including the bastard who put us in this hell. While hiding from the Troll, whose eyes are blinded from our fallen comrade, Andreas offers a suicide plan. His power is called Sunshine. He can accumulate power from the sunlight and use it to create an explosion. If used too much, his power will use his life force to power up the explosion he wants to create."

"He wanted to get closer to the boss and use all of his life force to create a massive explosion."

"Yes and no. You are correct in saying that he wants to create a massive explosion, but you are wrong in saying he only wants to get closer. No. He wanted to get inside the mouth of the Troll because he was afraid that the Troll's skin was too tough for it to die. Without waiting for our answer, Andreas decided to run toward the boss. After a few seconds, we decided to obey the last command of our leader and give him support. We managed to distract the boss long enough for him to climb the Troll. With a final stun from Rachel, Andreas got inside the mouth of the Troll and used the full power of his power. After the massive explosion is happening, we can see nothing else besides a massive treasure chest in the middle of the room."

They stay silent for a minute before Joshua says.

"Then why did you decide to invite me? It must be painful to accept another new member when the reason why your previous party member is dead is because of a new member."

"Time fixes pain, and it has been a year since that incident. I will not forget about it, but I will not continue weeping. Not only that, but we also know that Andreas and the others did not want us to continue mourning them and Andreas' dream is to see the Wild Hunt grow and become an international party. We want to fulfill his dream and his legacy."

"I see."

Joshua smiles a little at Laudia's declaration and thinks that he is really glad to join the wild hunt.

"Laudia! What is happening?!"

Joshua snaps from his thoughts when he sees a group of people coming at them. Eka and his staff arrive on the thirtieth floor using a portal. Joshua can see a woman panting and suggest that she is the one that teleported them here.

"Why is the boss room occupied?!"
