He stands on his feet, and the flame jumps on his body. Before Elena could understand anything, Winston was already on fire. She wakes up from the bed and starts screaming while looking at him. But soon her scream turned into a shock because Winston was smiling as the fire caught his whole body.
His wounds started to burn again, and he started laughing. Elena kept looking at him with fear and confusion while he kept burning himself, and as he was convinced that he burned himself enough, he stopped the fire. He looked at Elena with that smile and Elena felt terrified of him.
Some pain goes away, some pain stays forever. Winston doesn't want this pain to go away. He wants to preserve it, so it could be kept remembering him, about his enemies and his vengeance.
