Followed

Alex continued on to find civilization... or that was the plan. However, he quickly noticed he was being followed.

"Um... hello?"

Alex turned around, looking at his benefactor who was observing him.

"I need to know."

With these words, she turned into a crow and perched on a branch, watching him.

Alex wanted to tell her to go away, but he couldn't do so. He couldn't sense her level of power, but it was surely way higher than him. He couldn't tell her what to do and was lucky she hadn't confined him.

*Sigh*

"Fine, but please try not to cause trouble."

The crow nodded, before watching him, following along and perching whenever he paused.

She did not take her eyes off of him, wondering the entire time why he was so shiny. Crows had an attraction to shiny things, but this was the first time she had seen a shiny human.

"Um... do you know where other people are?"

Alex figured he could wander around or he could ask the local who was following him around for directions. He chose the latter.

The crow did not answer, just pointed her beak in a direction.

"Thanks."

Alex continued forth, going in the direction she pointed. He was going much faster due to his rest and energy, so he soon reached his destination.

Turns out, a kingdom of spirit beasts resided in this forest.

Alex was grateful to his benefactor, who just looked at him. He tried looking at her in the eyes, only for her to look away. He didn't mind it and decided not to force it either. Unknown to him and only known to a certain group of women who had researched it, his eyes were extremely powerful and would gradually cause obsession when someone gazed for too long. The angel, who had noticed him and his eyes when he was just a kid, had put down a countless number of women who he had interacted with when he was a kid.

Alex's eyes wouldn't cause immediate love and obsession, it was gradual, but long exposure was never a good idea. They had kept it from him on the off chance that he might use it, though they were sure he wouldn't, but now it would be their downfall. Alex, who was unaware of the power of his eyes, wouldn't divert them like he would if he knew.

The crow was simply feeling the effect and assuming shininess was the cause of her interest. Granted, Alex was pretty shiny. His blonde hair shone.

Alex stood, watching as he wondered if he could just enter. Deciding that he wouldn't get farther, he decided to just enter and hope for the best. He would get his bearings here. He just hoped he wouldn't get noticed...

...

Hope is futile.
