Clues or Living in a Bubble?

She placed the baby outside the building of Arnold's office, and how when Arnold went to get her, she got into the office and tore the pages. 

"Enough. Just let her get out. I'm kind enough that I'm not reporting you for using a false identity. Just get out, Mercy or Amelia or whoever the hell you are. Never ever show your face here and burn in hell for all that you have done." Kevin shouted at Mercy's receding figure. 

Bill and Carina were relieved and more than overjoyed that their common trouble was over, but Arnold was troubled by how easily Mercy had confessed to her crimes.

'Did she do it to get forgiven?' He wondered. For someone like Mercy, something was definitely up her sleeves, but what was it?
