LIAM'S POV
"How do you feel now babe?" I asked as I softly caressed Helen's forehead. She looked up at me and smiled brightly. I was really glad she was awake and safe. Although she looks a little dull, I knew she would be fully recovered soon.
I thought of the witch, Lily, and let out an angry sigh. She should be grateful to the moon goddess or whatever god that helped her life by not letting Helen die, otherwise, she would have seen and experienced my real wrath as an Alpha.
Not my problem wherever she fled to, all I hope is that she doesn't ever return to this pack again.
"I'm fine now...where is Lily?" Helen asked as she struggled to get up.
I held her back to the bed, "Easy, you ain't that strong yet to move around," I stopped her and made her lie back on the bed.
"Are you hurting anywhere?" I asked after I noticed her wince a little in pain.
She shook her head saying no, I was relieved.
"Did my parents come?" She asked.
"Yes, they will be back soon. Just recover fully first,"
It wasn't long before someone, a guy precisely came to the door and requested to see Helen. I told the guards to let him in, which they did.
The next minute a chubby, round, slightly short looking guy walked into the room. He scurried straight to where Helen lay and began acting all emotional.
I was beyond surprised and shocked too.
"My love, I missed you, I looked for you everywhere but couldn't find you...I..."
He blabbered on and on and I saw the hint of discomfort in Helen. It was obvious she didn't want the guy around her, that was when I knew I had to step in.
"Can you step away from her a bit, don't you see she doesn't want you around her?" I asked with my Alpha voice causing the guy to cower before me.
"I'm...sorry...my Alpha but she..." he stuttered.
"Please take him away..." Helen whimpered from the bed, cutting off the guy.
I didn't need her to speak again before I called in the guards immediately to bundle the strange guy away.
"Please my Alpha, hear me out..."
He tried to protest but was dragged out by the guards before he could speak further.
"Are you okay?" I rushed to Helen's side.
She nodded yes but something seemed a bit off and unsettling with her and I had a feeling it had something to do with the guy that just left. I was worried about her and scared that maybe the strange guy had woken up a difficult memory for her.
"Here, relax okay. I'm sure he will never be near you again."
It wasn't long before Helen fell asleep again. I had to use that opportunity to take care of things I couldn't take care of while she was sick as I was worried about her.
After that I decided to take a walk and enjoy the evening's breeze.
The sun looked like it was about to retire for the day so that the moon could take over. I smiled at the way the universe was arranged. Each thing has its own time to bloom and also time to rest. Just like the sun which has served its purpose in the day and is now about to rest and the moon that has been at rest and now has to serve its own purpose too.
I was glad I didn't make the mistake of mating Lily, I can't afford to give my pack a weak and wicked Luna in the future. One who could kill her own mother wouldn't think twice before killing her subject. I would rather have Helen as my mate than her. The moon goddess would spare me from saving my pack from future mistreatment from Luna.
"My Alpha hear me out! Please!...please hear me out..."
I turned to see the same man I bundled away from Helen's side running towards me and was being chased by my guards.
He was caught on the way and one of the guards landed a blow to his face and pinned him down to the ground.
"What exactly is wrong with this guy?" I asked myself out loud. Is he so obsessed with Helen that he can't let her be or what.
The guards started to drag him away but he kept on yelling and screaming and wriggling to be freed.
"Stop!" I commanded.
The guards stopped at once. I asked them to bring me the guy so I could really know his exact problem. He was brought to me and made to kneel before me.
"Speak!" I ordered him.
He trembled at my feet and struggled to find his words. I was beginning to lose my temper with his cowardice. Even though he is before me, the Alpha, he should still be able to speak up.
"My Alpha... Helen is my mate... I mean the moon goddess mated her to me..."
I looked at the guy as he spilled shits and jargons. I felt the anger of the Alpha in me rising and threatening to burst through me.
I was just about to grab him by his neck when my mother's voice sounded behind me stopping me in my tracks.
I glared at the scared figure below me and walked away.
"Is everything alright Liam?"mum asked as I walked to her. I nodded and walked past her without saying a word.
"No, it can't be..."
I kept on muttering to myself as I sneaked into my private chamber, the words of the strange guy never leaving my head and shut the door behind me as I wanted no distractions.
I was confused with the whole thing. Helen never told me she had a mate while we were together. I couldn't just believe a stranger over Helen but still I also couldn't stop asking myself why a stranger would walk up to me just to lie to me. There has to be some truth in what he said or lies. I was torn between confronting Helen for the truth or ignoring the strange guy who could be raving mad for all I know.
I poured myself a glass of wine to help me relax whilst I thought of what to do with Helen and how to bring the topic to her.
Against all odds, I prayed and hoped that Helen hadn't deceive me.
