Chapter 23

The last bell on the day had finished going off. Seth was walking down the hallways when he was suddenly called out by Mr. Donalds. He was wondering what the older man wanted. Since he knew that Leon had something to do. He felt like he could spend whatever time the teacher needed with and still be okay on time. When he walked over to the man, he realized that it was about Leon.

"I was really surprised that we had not issue with Leon during the school trip. I was afraid that he would get into fights with the other schools or even with our own class." Mr. Donalds laughed with his hand behind his head. "I don't know what you did. But you have become a miracle worker when it comes to Leon. I have seen the changes in that boy since I asked you to watch over him." a new person."

"He's not the only one." Seth whispered.

"What was that?"

"Oh, nothing." Seth responded.

"Well, if I can ask you. Can you please work with him until graduation? His grades have gone up majorly even his father had made a comment on it.

"His father was here?" Seth questioned.

"Oh no." Mr. Donalds waved his hand up and down. "There is no way someone like him would actually come to the school. He contacted me by phone. I was happy that I was finally able to give him good new and proof to back it up too." The old man laughed.

"You don't have to tell me to stay with him. Once you get to know him, he's not that bad." Seth responded.

"Oh really." The man replied. "Well maybe he only needed someone like you to show him the right path."

"I don't know if that is it or not." Seth admitted.

"Well, no matter what the reason is, please just keep doing what you're doing." Seth nodded. "Sorry that I keep you after school, go ahead and leave now." Mr. Donalds spoke as he waived his hand in a shoo manner. Seth turned and left the teacher.

When Seth walked outside, he saw Leon pull up on his bike. It felt like it was perfect timing for the other teen to show up. Seth grabbed the other strap of his backpack over his shoulder so it wouldn't fall off. Getting into the routine. The smaller teenager walked over to the bike and grabbed the helmet that was offered by Leon. Putting it and buckling it, Seth got onto the bike. It has become much easier than when he first started. Holding onto Leon's stomach, he felt the bike revved up. It didn't take long for the two to be on the road. For a while now. Seth couldn't help but feel comfortable riding the bike with Leon. For some reason. It just felt right. Maybe it was due to whenever he would hold onto Leon like he was now, he felt safe. Not only that, but his heart would start pounding pretty hard too. That also only happened when he was close to Leon as well. He hoped that Leon couldn't feel the thumping of his heart as he held on tight to the taller teen's body. Seth gently hugged Leon's waist tighter. He smiled liking the time they spent while on the bike. Leon glanced down and then back up to the road again.

The two had made it to Leon's house. Getting off the bike. Leon turned off the motor and followed Seth's footsteps to the front of his house. Unlocking the door, the two made their way inside the house and up to Leon's room. Leon had not spoken a word to Seth since they gotten off the bike. Even before that. He had been quiet the entire time. Seth put his bag on the floor by the door and took a good look at Leon. He clearly looked upset, but not sure why.

"Did something happen today? You look a bit irritated." Seth questioned the taller teen. Leon stayed quite. It may be something that Leon didn't want to talk about. He could understand that. So to change the mood, he asked another question. "So... you said you were going somewhere. Where did you go?" "The fuck is with all of these questions!?" Leon snapped at Seth. Seth taken back by the sudden outburst had a hard time to respond right away.

"I....I'm sorry. I just..." Seth trailed off and closed his mouth. Leon felt guilt rush through his body. He

shouldn't have done that.

"No." Leon spoke as he shook his head. "I'm sorry that I snapped at you. It has nothing to do with you. So I shouldn't take it out on you." Leon spoke as he walked over to his bed and sat down. Seth stood standing in the room not sure what to do yet. "My father wanted to talk with me today. So I was pulled into the lounge on a conference call."

"A conference call? He didn't come in person?" Seth questioned. Leon rolled his eyes.

"Like that man has time out of his schedule to come see his own son. You've been here long enough

to know that he doesn't even come home." That was true. Every time Seth came over, he never saw the man, no matter how late it became.

"So what happened?" Seth questioned. Leon sighed.

"When we were talking, the teacher was so hyped up about telling him about my grade improving. It seemed like my father was quite excited about that." Leon had a face of disgust.

"Well, that should be a good thing." Seth responded. He was confused about the face Leon was getting. He should be happy about that right?
