Daggers and Sparks

Afena sat on the grass, and had been speaking for fifteen minutes or so.

Alis, sitting against the trunk of a tree, using a wooden tablet as a surface to write, which rested on the thigh of her bent leg, moved some sheets of paper around to start from the very beginning.
