Arystan Nikolaev never entertained the idea of hiring a woman to be his manager. He knows the complications that comes with it. But his bestfriend and former manager Senti, talked him into it. Senti strongly believes that the woman is the perfect person for the job he is leaving. He relented.

He however, thought it best to keep his distance and to only focus on their work relationship. But there's something about the woman that draws him in. He wonder if it's because of her pleasing looks or the mystery and danger that surrounds her. 

She has dangerous secrets and her very life is at stake. But he doesn't want to turn away. He wanted to protect her and unmasked the identity she wanted to keep hidden from him. Only by then can he help her and keep her by his side.

"Ah yes. You said you don't want attention."

"Yes Sir. So… I'm telling you beforehand that I won't be around you in public places with a lot of people like the airport."

"Why would you not want attention?" Zhanat asked her.

"You're very pretty. I mean you can be a celebrity yourself and be good at it," Zhanat went on, ignoring Miras aga shaking his head at her.

Jade put her spoon down in her bowl then looked up to Zhanat. For a couple of seconds she looked at her in silence.

"I just don't like the it Zhanat. And I've never wanted to become a celebrity."

Zhanat pursed her lips together and didn't say anything more. This is the first time I heard Ms. McCrae sound condescending and cold. It felt like the room temperature had gone down to a chill.

"Let's finish up," I said to everyone and we all went back eating without another word.
