Call me master

The next day, after resting and consuming the herbal decoction the man had given her, she still had a headache, but it wasn't as bad as it had been the day before, showing that the decoction was gradually helping her heal.

Opening her amethyst eyes lazily, she turned her gaze to the side, where she noticed the man who had saved her sleeping next to her.

Keira lowered her gaze to get a better look. Even though his eyes were still covered with a thin cloth, she could see through them how gorgeous his long eyelashes were, which made her admire how flawless a person can be.

Seeing his tall figure sleeping on the straw, arms crossed, and appearing to be in an uncomfortable posture, Keira, wanting to be a good Samaritan, turned around and grabbed the animal skin blanket and draped it on top of him.

As she carefully stretched the blanket over his chest, his hand unexpectedly lifted up and gripped her wrist.

His sudden movement startled Keira, She thought she had disturbed him and was about to withdraw her hand.

"Your fever has cooled down..." He murmured while slowly stretching himself, "Umm... It's good," the man unwittingly let out a moan, causing the female heart to flutter. She was so sure that her pulse had turned into a dance floor by now, and he must have sensed it that made him let go of her wrist.

He stood up and went to the campfire, adding a few pieces of firewood before returning his gaze to where Keira was lying. "I'll go hunting for prey. You shouldn't move your body while I was away. Your body is still... weak " He cast a glance at her as he spoke.

Though she couldn't read his expression due to the bandage covering his eyes, his tone was firm and showed that he was concerned about her health.

She appreciated his concern and smiled weakly. "Thanks for saving me.." she said hardly audibly, nearly whispering to herself since her throat stung, feeling as though she'd swallowed hundreds of needles. "Could you tell me who you are?" She added. It was reasonable for her to want to know who had saved her from a near-death experience.

But the man remained silent, he hasn't spoken a word and simply turned around and left the cave.

Her brows knotted at what she got as an 'answer'. Just now he was all kind and gentle, and in a blink of an eye he turned into a mysterious outsider with a 'I don't do talking' vibe. She tried not to be pessimistic with his reactions when her head was 'As much aching as necessary' Being an overthinker won't do any good with her recovery.

At least the way he helped her has shown that he wasn't a bad person, that's probably good enough. closing her eyes, she continued her resting.

The spicy fragrance has broken her from slumber. She sniffed the familiar scent of garlic and ginger and thought she must have finally returned to her homeworld.

'But why does it smell like burning?' that was when she widened her eyes and saw the relentless amount of smoke. Her survival instinct told her that there must be a fire starting in this place and be ready to grab her belongings to jump out of the window.

But before she could grab anything, she realized that she hadn't traveled back to her world, and was still there, in a stone, mossy, cave, and lying on a straw..? bed.

Shifting her gaze to the cause of the flaming smoke, she spotted a man seated in the midst of the fume, cooking something he didn't seem to know what he was doing.

"I think it's... burning," she gritted her teeth, how hard she was trying to keep her voice as neutral as possible. Was this guy plotting a murder scene inside his head? just because she asked him who he was? There was no way a mutually friendly relationship could do such things 'Starting a fire from a burned garlic Oh lord!.. I had no idea he hated me this much!'

When Keira stood up, she felt a sharp ache in her ankle and stumbled back into the bed.

The man approached her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "Do not get up yet."

"No! I won't let you torture me like this! damn it! I must get up. I can't let you do this to me!" She yelled, hopping one-legged to the campfire, then hastily kicked the huge stone slab, which had been used as a pan..? out of the fire.

She turned her gaze back to him, furious, taking a deep breath but quickly stopping when it didn't help her calm down because the entire cave smelled like burned garlic.

"I honestly appreciate how you saved me, but the heck are you doin?" She scoffed, crouched beside the fire, and stared longingly at the burnt garlic.

He sat down beside her, "I thought you ate these things." His voice was calm , acting like he weren't the one to set this cave to explode with blazing smoke.

Sneering at his severe demeanor "Yeah, I do eat. But we don't burn it like this.. Wait.. how did you know I ate this?" She recalled what he claimed had piqued her interest.

For several days that she was in this world, she hadn't seen beastmen cook with garlic or spice. Because the herbs and spices were solely used to make medication, so who was this person?

The man showed no emotion at being asked and simply stood up, He took the meat and set it on the stone slab, saying, "It just happened that I know." This was not the response Keira wanted. His apathy upset her even more.

Narrowing her eyes dramatically, "Who are you?" she asked.

"Just someone passing by," he replied, his hands arranging the meat on the stone surface before setting it on fire.

"..." Keira was amazed by how unfortunate her conversation with this person was. The more she glared at him, the more pain she felt in her ***. Though he appeared to be harmless, he was undoubtedly the most irritating person.

"See, it's almost done," he murmured as he stirred the meat on the stone surface.

Keira breathed a long sigh, attempting to calm herself. "What else do you know about me? Do you know me?"

"Yes, Keira," he casually called her name, despite the fact that Keira had never told him her name.

"See? You know mine, but I don't know yours; at the very least, tell me your name." She grasped his arm, urging him to pay attention to her.

He paused, glancing at Keira's hand on his arm, then slowly turned to face her. "Call me Master."

'What a bullcrap is this!' A stranger just told her to call him master.

Rolling her eyes, she grumbled, "Why should I call you 'master'?"

"If you don't, I won't feed you," he said simply.

'Since when was God being so nonsense? This heavenly man was truly a fraud! What was the point of having such a divine face?'

"Will you? and 'just so you know,' the meat is ready." He took the stone slab from the fire and placed it near where Keira was seated, as if to tease her.

The smell of food drove her insane because she hadn't eaten anything in days. 'Ugh! fine master whatever'

"Master.."

"Good girl," he smiled as he wrapped the meat in a leaf and handed it to her.

'Oh my goodness, this guy can smile. A heavenly grin! Why, Lord? Why did you create such a frustrating person with such a perfect face?'
