Chapter 14. Eve the devil needs love

A few seconds later, everything suddenly stopped. She chopped down in bed, the blood stopped oozing and she fell into a profound sleep as if nothing had ever happened.

"Finally," Sam exclaimed with relief. "We should allow her to rest" with this said, I turned to leave and Sam followed me.

Unexpectedly a magic portal emerged just when I we were about to step our feet out of the room. This halts me in consequence, also halts Sam.

"Where have you been? I have been trying to reach you in vain" I reprimanded him. He moved closer to me "Figure out that I also have a life, Mark. I was at a very important meeting with my superior and I couldn't pick up your calls," he said.

"Okay, let's go to the living home" I pulled him out to prepare his mind since he had not yet noticed her presence in the room. "I feel a strange sent" he exclaimed.

"Ah, aa, ouch!…" she woke up with a sore cry. "What happened to me?" she whimpered. Dresden rapidly turned, this is when he finally saw her.

She was seated up in bed, straightening her body. The blood on her face had made much thunder lines and it had started clotting.

"Damn!. MARK, what the hell is she still doing here?. I thought I made everything clear and you drove her away. She can't stay here" he turned to me whispering nervously.

"I can hear you!" she sad rolled her eyes. She was looking weak. "Whatever!" Dresden shamelessly faced her with a frowning face.

"Please, what happened to me?" she asked. I glared at Sam. He immediately understood "We were on our way out of the house and we found you at the gate bleeding to death. We did all that we could to calm you," he explained.

"Can you tell us what happened to you?" I asked.

"I have no Ideas. I can't even remember how I reached your gate. The lasting I remember is being in the park trying to understand what happened to me that evening then this weird pain emerged" she said thoughtfully.

"Who else saw you?" Dresden asked.

"I don't know" she scolded him "All I can remember is the pain was monstrous like I was going to die. I'm shocked that I'm still alive with no damages. I'm exhausted but I'm fine. What's wrong with me?" she lowered her tone.

"It's hard to explain" Said Dresden.

"I'm sure both of you can help me understand. I have to know what's happening to me. I haven't been the same since that attack is like my body is been infested with parasites. Sometimes I feel like something is moving in me but the worse is when the pains become uncontrollable. I have never had this before" she cried.

"You made the right decision by coming here and not rushing to the hospital" I exclaimed. "I didn't have a choice!" she glared with her face coated with blood.

"Luckily, I have a choice and with this freedom, I decide to leave. Now!" Dresden pouted. "You ain't going nowhere. Not until we are done. So you are staying here" I ruled. He wearily rolled his eyes pencilled with dark eyeliner.

"Where is my bag, I need my phone" she worried. "This is it, Ma'am" Sam gave it to her. "Thank you." She said as she took the bag. She was still seated in bed.

"You can take your day off, Sam," I told. "Thank you, sir" with this said he left.

She stepped down from the bed and I feared. She was weak. Where the hell was she going to?. I asked myself. "I have to make a phone call," she announced.

"Why? Or to who?" Dresden wounded aloud. "To my mum. I have to tell her that I may not come back home tonight. Are you okay now?" she scowled.

"Why won't you go home tonight?" he insisted as if she owned him any explanation about her life. I could put an end to it but I was also eager to understand so I acted uninterested.

"Wow!" she exclaimed furiously "I will only leave this house once I know everything that has happened and that is happening to me. I'm sure Mark has no problem with this?" she glared at me anxiously.

I blinked my eyes with slight confusion. I was acting.

"Good, I take that for a yes. Now excuse me" she nudged him of her way as she moved to the bathroom. "Ah, fuck!" she shrieked then locked herself. I guessed she finally saw her reflection on a mirror.

She called her mum, unfortunately, she didn't know we could listen to her conversation. Then she on the tap, when the water started flowing we couldn't listen to her conversation anymore.

Dresden pulled me down to the living room.

"You are playing with fire Mark. This is a bad idea, so stay away from her before the bond between her and her aggressor is made. Or better still we should tell our Alpha about her." he suggested.

"She's a boom right?. have you thought about this boom being in the wrong hands?. For centuries we've had no 'Lux mortuorum'. So far it has only been a myth and now you want us to give her out to her aggressor. Ain't you eager to discover her abilities?" he knew Dresden's love for knowledge and mastery.

"Damn, the power of her blood or the beautiful things it can accomplice" he eagerly added despite his defiance. "Good, so stop whimpering like a child and do what is necessary to keep her alive," I told.

"What will you do when the other pack discover her existence?. I don't still feel right about this" he stressed. "You don't need to bother about that, just concentrate on saving her life" I gave him a gentle tap on the shoulders.

She had just ended her call and she was done watching her face. "I can't promise you anything. I will try my best to help her although I don't still feel right about all this" he said.

"I can hear you" she moved down smiling at Dresden "I will be very grateful," she said.

"I can't believe what I just heard. I saved her life countless times but she has never shown any sign of gratefulness, Wow," I yelled deep within me. Although I glared at them fiercely.

"Don't you know that it's bad to listen to people's conversations?" he pouted. "Whatever!" she grumbled.

"Please, I want to know everything no matter how hard it is, no sugarcoating" she boldly stood in front of us. I was a bit mad at her for her ungratefulness.

Even Michael Jackson said it, that even the devil needs love and all I expected was an acknowledgement. Was it too much to ask?.
