Chapter 40 : Go Away Now

Vika's POV

"Where are you taking me?" I asked, stumbling in the woods.

"Trust me, Vika," Asher said softly. He turned around.

"Eek!" I squeaked as I bumped into him. I fell back, reaching behind me.

Asher caught my arm. He grinned.

"See, I've got you," he said, winking.

I sighed. "Thanks," I muttered.

The trees thinned out, and Asher led me to the edge of a cliff.

"Whoa," I muttered.

A glittering, sparkling waterfall cascaded down the cliff, rushing into a river below in the moonlight.

I put my hand over my mouth. My eyes felt like they were wider than the moon.

"What is this place?" I asked. I stuck my hand out, spray from the waterfall sticking to my skin like raindrops.

"It is called Starlight Waterfall," Asher said.

"I've never seen anything so beautiful," I murmured. The moonlight caressed the waterfall as if sending countless glowing stardust to the waterfall.

Asher grabbed my outstretched hand. He sat down and tugged me down next to him.
