Asher's POV
"I need you back at the castle, now," he said sternly.
"Umm… I thought you wouldn't be back until later," I said. I didn't expect to receive a call from my father at this time.
Vika held her hands out. I put my finger up and mouthed, 'Hang on.'
"Well, I'm back. We need to talk. Come to the castle, no matter where you are," my father insisted.
"Okay, I'm on my way." I sighed and shoved my phone in my pocket as we got back to the cabin.
"I'm sorry, Vika, I have to go. My father has come back." I stroked her shoulder.
Master Rutfus was still at the cabin.
"My father called me back to the castle. Rutfus, please secure Vika for now," I said.
"No, Asher, we should stay together," Vika argued, grabbing my wrist.
The light left her eyes, and that beaming, beautiful grin I loved vanished. The sweetness was a luxury for us.
I smirked at her. "I wish we could. Right now, I need to figure out what is going on. I'll let you know if something goes wrong."
