Chapter 28: Aethiopia

Casandra woke up with the sun beating down on her shoulders intensely. She felt a little sick from the rocking of the reed ferry they were traveling down the Nile in. Well, actually, Lakis told her they were technically traveling up the Nile since the Nile flowed out from Ethiopia. Or something like that. She wasn’t really good with those sorts of things!

She sat up slowly since she did not want to throw up but also wanted to get out of the sunlight. Anubis perked up once he sensed her moving and she rubbed his head. The whole ship was quiet and the Nile flowed easily beneath them, making only a light rocking motion (but it was still enough to make her nauseous!). She looked around for Lakis who was seated at the front of the boat eating some dates and bread. He looked very calm and she always liked that about him. She made her way over to him, wobbling a little as if she were tipsy.
