Anders Pov:
I rub my aching head as we finally make it out of the green and silver maze. Entering the hallway to the next room, the plants gave way and, looking behind us seemed to reveal what had destroyed our eyesight for what felt like hours. A few Dire Glow Rabbits stared at us just at the entrance to the hallway. Unlike the usual 'creatures' in this strange dungeon, they held all their fur and looked completely accurate to their surface counterparts. We decided to take a break for the night in the hallway, though they seem to be safe spaces, we chose to take turns on watch first Shan, then Xan, followed by me. I used the spell 'Tempoura' to check the time, well position of the sun, but still the time. It was about 10 or 11 pm so we set up our tents and got down to sleep.
A while later I was awakened, not by Xan, but by the thump of two objects hitting against each other rhythmically, seeming to keep a beat with each collision of the two objects. I let Xan sleep and went out to talk to Shannon.
"Hey Shan, how are you holding up?"
"Fine, fine, but this noise is going to drive me crazy! I see nothing moving and it's coming from the maze and we don't know what's in there! But it doesn't sound like walking it's too echoey eeehhaahhhhh! Now I can't stop trying to figure out what it is and I'm half tempted to just go find and destroy whatever's making it at this point, it's been going on for hoursssssss and they haven't missed a beat! It's like those stupid music boxes but it's even more stupid because it only has. ONE. INCREDIBLY. ANNOYING. BEAT. AHHHGGH!"
"Oook Shan. How 'bout I take my shift early you go see if you can fashion some earplugs and get some sleep because you're giving me stabby vibes, so sleeep I got this."
-Moring-
The sound didn't even stop at the end of my watch and I swear to the MAGES, I will Murder the first thing that even makes a fraction of that sound. At about sunrise we broke camp and continued our exploration of the dungeon when, roughly five minutes in, we come to a door. It filled the frame of the entire hallway that had been expanding since the point we broke camp, making it massive and seemingly impossible to open. Upon further investigation we found that, near the seam lay another set of doors much smaller, built into the first set of doors. Pushing open the door it revealed a large rocky room, in the middle of which lay a huge boulder.
"Guys let's be careful this looks like a boss Shannon stick with Xand, after this room we're going to turn back, we're probably under prepared."
3rd Pov:
After walking halfway to the large boulder, the three notice the boulder begin to move. It unfolded into a 6.8 ft tall stone version of the wood automata. Its body was made almost completely of stone but its joints were wooden. Upon its back lay a war hammer half as tall as its body.
Then the battle began.
The automaton attempt to hit the three with its war hammer but the three just barely dodge its quick strikes and aim for the joints during the slow movements in between strikes. After hours scraped, bruised, and out of breath they finally killed the boss Kensun. The automation is absorbed by the dungeon leaving only a shard of the war hammer behind.
