My Role

A man slowly stepped into the store. He didn't seem Japanese, and a strap holding a camera hung around his neck. It was big and the lenses were long.

He glanced to the sides with a slight frown before looking forward and approaching me.

Please tell me he isn't recording.

"Good afternoon," he said in a broken accent. It was still morning.

"Good morning."

He laughed nervously and said something in a language I couldn't even recognize. I didn't know what to say until he asked in English.

"Do you speak English?"

"I do."

He took a deep breath and said something I didn't understand to himself before raising his head.

"I came to the town with a guide, but we accidentally split and I got lost. I saw the big, pretty sign outside and the door open, so I guessed this was some kind of store."

"We sell homemade candies and snacks. Take your time to look around, they are all tasty."
