Little lies.

They entered the compartment, and many of the people in there glanced at them...or should I say, students. As usual, their gazes were fixed on Hugo especially, he was a new face. They were glancing at him, but he wasn't glancing at them, his gaze was somewhere else...he was scanning round the compartment.

There were chairs and tables in the room, and some books were on the table. Done scanning round the compartment, he finally glanced at the students. He could see both males and females, like yeah, what else was he expecting to see? And they all had beautiful faces, if only this apocalypse hadn't happened, then they'll be living a free life without fearing or hiding.

The students didn't need to be told to know that he was a survivor that just arrived at this academy. Looking at his clothes and face, they could tell that it wasn't easy for him to get to this place. Well, most of the students here had to pass through that situation to get to this place. Captain Wayne placed his palm on Hugo's shoulder and uttered,

"This guy is gonna be joining this class, his power level is low just as you guys', he arrived at this academy not even up to an hour ago".

Hugo arrived at this academy today, but some kids arrived at this academy about 2-3 days ago...and they were in this class. They didn't come together, in fact, they don't know each other, it was just a coincidence that they arrived on almost the same day. So Hugo wasn't the newest face to this academy, at least, some teens arrived 2-3 days before him.

Captain Wayne called out on the kids that arrived in this academy 2 to 3 days ago,

"The recent students of this class, show yourselves".

They indicated themselves by raising their hands a little, then the captain said to them,

"You guys aren't the newest to this academy anymore, the newest now is this young man".

Hugo had already sighted and counted the guys Captain Wayne called out, and they were four in number...two boys and two girls. So, they arrived two to three days before him? Cool.

"His name is, Hugo". Captain Wayne voiced out once again, then he glanced at Hugo and inquired, "And how old are you?".

"I'm 18 years old". Hugo retorted.

"You've heard it from him, he's 18 years old, just like the age-mate of most of you guys. I'll take him to my office now for the question and answer section".

Then he glanced at Hugo and uttered, "Let's go".

The both of them walked out of the compartment, then they began strolling along the corridor once again. Sauntering, Hugo glanced into the door of that old man once again, and he was still sitting on the floor meditating...he must be a dedicated monk. They strolled until they reached the staircase that led to the first floor, then they began ascending it, seems like the captain's office was on the first floor.

Reaching the first floor and still sauntering, Hugo sighted a lady in black holding an AK-47 in her hand. By now, he had already discerned what that AK-47 was for, it was used for taking lives...simple. They reached where the lady was standing, then Captain Wayne patted her on her shoulder and uttered,

"Comrade Miya, how're you doing?".

"I'm doing cool, captain". Comrade Miya retorted.

"You done training your students?".

"Yeah, but am not completely done yet, I've still got some to train".

Captain Wayne said nothing more, he just nodded his head and kept on sauntering. They arrived at a certain door, then the captain opened it as the both of them stepped foot into the compartment. Hugo loved how the captain's office was designed, it was cool. There were chairs in the compartment, but Hugo was surprised when the captain said to him,

"Sit on the floor, I've got some questions to ask you".

He noticed the expression on Hugo's face, and he discerned that it was as a result of what he said, so he uttered once again,

"Or don't you want to sit on the floor? Should we sit on the chairs instead?".

"No, it's cool, I prefer we sit on the floor". Hugo voiced out, he didn't want to displease the captain.

"You know, I love sitting on the floor when discussing with young ones like you".

The both of them sat down on the floor, then Captain Wayne began speaking,

"I already know your name and age. Just to be sure, you are from this city, right?".

"Yeah". Hugo responded.

"So, where are your parents and siblings if you've got any".

The moment Captain Wayne made that utterance, those painful memories crashed back into Hugo's mind. How his parents and siblings were killed by the knights of the Fleuran kingdom. But he can't tell him that? He can't let him know that he transmigrated from the Ivairis kingdom into this earth. So he was gonna lie,

"My parents and siblings were bitten by zombies".

"Oh, as expected. So, how did it come about? How did it happen?".

Hugo began forming another lie in his head he was gonna tell the captain, and within some seconds, he had come up with a good lie. He said to the captain,

"We were coming back from an event when we noticed that something was not right. People were running, and we didn't know the reason why, we hadn't sighted the zombies yet. It was when we saw a zombie ripping out the neck of a man that we knew it was serious, and we took to our heels immediately,

We were still in motion when zombies jumped on my parents out of nowhere, and I couldn't do anything about it, they bit my parents right on that spot. I held my siblings by the hand and began running once again. Running for some minutes, a large number of people started coming in our front, they were running, and zombies were chasing them,

I turned around with my siblings and continued running, but we didn't go far before those people reached us. They were so many that I lost my balance, my siblings' hands slipped away. At that moment, I aimed to survive, I managed to escape those zombies and run to a safe place, but I was so worried about my siblings,

The next time I saw them, they had already turned, they were zombies. It was so heartbreaking, my parents and siblings were gone just like that".

"Sorry for that, losing your family can be so painful, your story is similar to some of the students in this academy. So, how did you learn about this academy?". Captain Wayne inquired.

Hugo began thinking about another lie he was gonna tell the captain, he can't tell him that it was a system that notified him about it? After cracking his head for some seconds, he came up with a good lie,

"Umm..it was someone I met while surviving that notified me about this place, he's a young guy like me".

"So, where is that person? Didn't he come here with you? Or did he die on the way?".

"He told me about it, but he chose not to follow me. He said he'll survive on his own, then if luck isn't on his side anymore, and it's about time for him to get bitten by zombies, then so be it". Hugo explained, all he was saying was a lie.

"Hmm, should I call that guy a coward or a fool? Oh! it's best I call him a coward fool". Captain Wayne uttered.

Hugo smiled a little and inquired, "Why do you choose to call him that?".

"That's 'cause he informed you about this academy, but he chose not to follow you. You wouldn't have made it here if you hadn't tried, if you had like his mindset. He'll survive on his own, and when it's about time for him to get bitten by zombies, then so be it...can you believe that? Well, everyone has their own choice to make".

"Exactly".

Captain Wayne nodded his head a little and uttered once again, "Now, I've gotten to know a little more about you".

He's gotten some information about, Hugo, but there were things Hugo wanted to know, things he was curious about, so he voiced out,

"Am I allowed to speak my mind?".

"Sure".

"I have some questions to ask".

"Go on".

"First of all, it's evident that you're the boss around here".

That statement alone made Captain Wayne smile, and Hugo almost smiled too, but he held himself. He continued speaking,

"Definitely, you supported big time in creating this academy".

"Yeah".

"So, this is my question, how did this academy come about? What led you guys into creating it?".
